I'd be in for acrylic....we've never had acrylic.
Theres a lot to choose from and while most are attractive theres some I would gnaw my own arm off to get away from rather than waken them....pheasant feathers and pink salmon most recently.
Honestly I dont think acrylics will be for this particular knife....even if we made one up like for instance "wolf in sheeps clothing acrylic" with a woolly look.....it would be gimicky .

I’m with you. I have a newfound appreciation for acrylics. We’ll see!

I would buy almost any type of handles on a knife. I have had several celluloid handled knives in the past. Celluloid can be beautiful but over a period of time it can be a wonky material.
Acrylics are a perfect substitute for celluloid, just as beautiful and more stable. I accept acrylics as traditional with tongue in cheek, fingers crossed, and with a justified imagination.

I'd be in for almost any wood, acrylic, micarta, delrin... Anything but bone/stag/animal products in general, those aren't my cup of tea - with the exception of buffalo chip. I'd give that a try.

I know I said stag somewhere earlier in this thread, but that's probably a poor choice given the significant textural and thickness variations, so I'll vote against myself on that one now.

I'd be good with a nice wood or a smooth bone of some kind. I've always really liked the look of the appaloosa bone.

Not being American, i didn't know what this Buffalo Chip stuff was..... grained or stabilized

So I looked it up on the Internet.. all I find is a lot of tanned Biker Girls wearing not much leather on big motorcycles ;) So this is liked Stacked Leather right?:D
Ha! That's the Buffalo Chip biker rally. Buffalo chips are dried dung. ;) They were burned for fuel in the olden days.

I suppose almost anything could be stabilized with acrylic, but if we go that route, I hope we throw some gold glitter in with it. :D

The most important thing is that they are NOT the kind of chips you want to eat.

I guess it makes sense they burned well, it was essentially burning grass. :D

I think acrylic would be awesome!

I don't have a GEC in acrylic, only two in orange delrin, but I prefer the orange-ish acrylics. Tortoise Shell and Orange Crush, Pumpkin Patch/Fall Harvest and Tomato Acrylic are my favorites.
