That sandbar is really nice. Never noticed that one before.

Ummm ... What is "too much salt"?
Is that even possible on something like oranges, grapefruit, or popcorn?

Ask my Grandad..via a medium...mind you every meal he ate looked like Scarfaces "final meal" but using salt.

If it does end up being acrylic then why not go all the way and add the gold glitter to it?[/QUOTE

I've heard tell of a Golden Fleece....but we must sail to the end of the world, defeat the giant man of bronze, capture the harpies, negotiate the clashing rocks, fight the children of the Hydras Teeth and make out with Medea before returning home bearing the life giving fleece.

Excited to get the voting going. Congrats to all that voted for GEC. Last year, I lost almost every vote. But, I still got the Buck 301 (minus spey) and enjoy carrying it and using it. Hoping for a better voting outcome this year. Also excited to see what GEC has to offer up.

Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades..mainly.

Apparently a lot of Women qualify as workers ...o_O:D:thumbsup:

My Bad. I was curious if they are a paying member under manufacturer. I know it costs considerably more to do that. wasnt sure if they were listed under a different name. I like to see paying manufacturers get whats fair since they pay into it supporting the forums.

Are you sure about that? I was under the impression that BladeForums didn't charge Manufacturers for hosting a subforum.

Guys, I hate that I need to say this, but browsing through the various threads, I'm seeing more than a few knifemakers who are posting pictures of their work, and yet they do not have paid subscriptions here.

This site is kept open through paid memberships. If you are going to advertise items that you've made, please do the right thing and purchase the correct level of membership. You can purchase a membership by clicking here or by going to Settings (top right) and then clicking Paid Subscriptions. Knifemaker's memberships are only $75 a year, and you get to advertise your wares for sale in the Knifemaker's area of the Exchange.

Do the right thing. If you can afford a table at Blade, purchase a membership if you are going to be displaying the items you have available. Help keep the site open.

Site FAQ | How to get your Username changed

SECTION 1- Membership Levels Defined:

BladeForums.com is supported by members who have paid subscriptions. These different subscription levels offer various perks and benefits. As such, only certain membership levels may advertise items and services for sale on this site. Below are some general guidelines as to what priviledges each membership has within this area. Put it another way, without the appropriate level of paid subscription, you may not advertise or sell on this site. Period. No excuses.

MANUFACTURERS - Manufacturers & their designated moderators may offer items for sale in their dedicated Hosted Manufacturer Forum. Manufacturers are encouraged to contact us regarding a Hosted Manufacturer forum.

DEALER / MATERIALS PROVIDER - Dealers are defined as anyone who purchases at wholesale pricing, or purchases items with the intent to resell (flipping). Other terms for dealers include purveyor, broker, reseller, etc. Materials Providers offer raw materials such as steel, handle materials, or other items related to knifemaking in general as typical stock for sale to the forum members or to the general public via their own store front or website.

KNIFEMAKER / CRAFTSMAN / SERVICE PROVIDER (hearafter referred to as "Knifemaker") - Knifemaker's are allowed to sell items that they have personally created or modified in the KnifeMaker For Sale forums, or their own Hosted KnifeMaker Forum. If you are a knifemaker or craftsman and would like your own Hosted KnifeMaker Forum, please contact us.
Note, if you pay for 3 years at once, you can have your very own subforum and you save a bit of cash rather than buying one year at a time. This might be an option for the seasoned and serious members.

Yeah, I believe that is referring to knifemakers posting here, promoting their work without the proper membership level. I suppose an official representative of GEC, posting in that capacity would need to have a Knifemaker/manufacturer level membership. There's nothing in the rules about other members discussing any brand of knife, even ones that don't have an official presence here.

If you want to make a case for only manufacturers who have hosted forums here making the forum knife, I'd suggest a thread in Tech Support. It seems a little late and kinda sour-grapesy at this stage in the game.

I believe this is a poll thread. If you have a question about membership why not just click on "CONTACT US" at the bottom of the page?

Manufacturers don't pay to host a forum. They do need to moderate their forum.
To the best of my knowledge GEC hasn't requested to set up a forum.
There are a number of GEC dealers that are paid members and some of them are very active in this sub forum.

I like acrylic, but I don't like the requirement that we take sensitivity training before its purchase. Show a man's knife in pastel in a tavern no one will buy you a drink.

Most of the really tough guys I’ve known didn’t really care what other people thought of them. Nothing wrong with pastels and I’m sure there’s plenty of taverns that you could get a drink in if you flashed a shiny pink acrylic knife. ;)
