These both came in at the same time. Couldn't be happier! So far no blade rap detected. They fit perfectly in an old leatherman nylon pouch sheath, will have to do until i can get a nice leather one
Does anyone know if the Northfield brown jigged bone 23's will have a shield? The Production Schedule on the GEC site says "TBD" on the shield and the in-progress photos show brown jigged bone scales without any shield or cut-out on the show side. I reserved one of these for myself and will still be excited to get one, but just a little less excited if it shows up without any kind of shield at all.
My thumb nail spits real easily. I broke my nail trying to open the main blade of my GEC#23 Beaver gnawed cherry knife. I took it up stairs wrapped in a free lime green polishing cloth. I was toting too much stuff. The knife slipped right out of my hand/cloth. "SLAM" , right on the Australian Cypress hard wood steps. No damage at all , thank goodness. I put my foot on the knife and opened it right up with my CASE XX blade pick. I wrap the blades with a t-shirt and I rock the blade back and forth. All folders work better when frequently play with and keep them oiled. There is no such thing as a perfect knife. This #23 run is going to be wonderful. The Collector Knives SFO #23LL is going to be a real hit ! I clicked my reserve in yellow , so it is what it is. I like lighter pulls , but who cares. I will hand my big knife over to a friend to open it and laugh when he/she breaks a nail. The #23 has the loudest snap and I love the sound of it. I am very thankful for this run.I tend to believe CK's (Mike's) pull ratings.
A lot depends on what strength of pulls you're used to.
A '7' pull can seem like a '9' pull if you're not used to it.
You can always get the knife, and if you don't like it, you can sell it.

It is lovely!
The blade pulls on mine are a little heavier than my Micarta 23, but still great imho.
Fantastic knives.
I wonder how I can get in on a pre order for the Nothfield 2 blade unxld knife?
According to the production schedule all the single blades are liner locks.Couldn’t pass up that cherry wood either! Those turned out fantastic, don’t remember paying them any attention in the rendering but wow!Still have a micarta single blade on reserve, but it might be the jigged-Brazilian-double I end up keeping long term.
Edit: speaking of the single blade micarta, I thought those were supposed to have a liner lock as well. Looking back to the production schedule on page one, it doesn’t list the lock. Does anyone know for sure? Admittedly I haven’t been following this run too closely so apologies if it’s been mentioned.
