2020 GEC #62 Easy Pocket Congress and Pocket Carver Thread

IDK my Snakewood is Fantastic and my new desert iron wood is a very close second altho on the DIW the blades are touching a little when closed.
That's the first I've heard of blade rub...o_O Hopefully it's not too bad.
So far, I really like ALL of mine... can't really decide which I like best.. my unicorn, that I sanded down to a satin finish is the one that I've been carrying, but good grief... I'd be pleased to carry any of them. The blue camel is wonderful, as is my ironwood. The red jigged bone is wonderful, but it's the only one that I haven't carried at all... yet. Still has factory oil on the blades.
I think GEC hit a home run with these 62's....

I sent my Unicorn back to dealer due to A lot and I mean more that I've seen on any pic of black spots and rough too, along with you could hear the main blade coming in contact with the secondary... I knew I had a bad feeling on it before I placed order but oh well they exchanged it for a yellow bone bar shield. should get it as soon as I can ship back my Unicorn

I'm glad it worked out for you... the yellow looks good in the GEC pics...

Anyone else see any blade rub or blades touching the liners? Kind of amazing how they fit two blades in that skinny blade well with such close tolerances.

All of mine are dead centered
I agree it’s pretty amazing and Gec is doing a outstanding job !

No none at all, it's what I want in a single-spring Pen type knife.

But if it's happening we need to hear of it.

But then, look at a SAK Pruner...thin spring and never a hint of blade-rub (on mine anyway) Benchmark

Yes! Secured a Camel Bone Bar shield:cool: This could be the EDC one, still waiting for the DI -it's ransomed in Customs now a tedious quarantine  Still enthralled by the Tidoiute Jigged Bone, jigging on mine goes right into the bolsters, top:thumbsup:

Let's see, what has there been on this run? 1 Jigged Bone, 4 types of Micarta, 3 types of Camel Bone (Smooth), 2 Woods , something else? Stag to come. Shields: Banner, Prop, Bar, Banana, Oakleaf and this does not include the Carver version- but I do see that as same frame but different knife.

Not at all bad :D

Wonder what the numbers produced for the whole run will be?

and, you forgot the acrylic unicorn ivory....
I would be curious to hear the numbers, as well.
I haven't seen any of them that make me go "meh".... all of them are really nice looking. I wish I could afford one of each of the offerings, but I'm trying to be strong.

One place on my natural micarta is touching the brass liner, or looks to be, but so far no marks on blade....so? I'm not seeing any on my red jigged bone. I looked closely because its so tight looking, but no touching.

I think with all narrow framed traditional knives and or just even multi-blades a lot of it is how you open the blades. Such as using the nail nick to pull straight up and which order you open the blades.Or you can cause self-inflicted blade rub.

I told myself I only needed one of these, but as the days go on and I find myself carrying the 62 more then others, I wish I would of picked up one of the DLT SFO Snakewood now.. dangit.
That’s what I told myself also lol but now when the smoke clears I’ll have a total of 5 with 4 being DLT SFO’s
I really like this pattern and fell in love after my first the Maroon Micarta .
