I love all the dlt cover materials, I am just not a fan of the leaf shield one bit. I passed on all the talons for the same reason. Personal preference and more for you guys and gals
 
I'm so weak, several of the SFOs are going to test my conviction. I promised myself only one knife from this series and I already have the Unicorn Ivory reserved. Red Linen Micarta might put me over the edge:)

With GEC, I have a real "get it while you can" attitude.

Resale value is solid if you ever change your mind, and it never hurts to have a backup in different scale material you like.
 
I wonder how the bomb and leaf shields will be placed? I am guessing off center unless they make smaller versions. The off centered congress shield or non symmetrical shields work for a jack style with both blades on the same end. It will be interesting to see how these come together.

The past run of 61/62 knives had off center acorn shields on all the stainless models. I think it looks ok. I prefer the large centered crown shield, but this one on the bone tidioute is pretty snazzy looking too.


Looks like I choose well on the jigged bone. I might have to pick up one in stag too.....micarta and camel bone don't so it for me.
 
Although I like the Oakleaf and Bomb, to my mind they won't work so well set off centre on this symmetric curved frame with a blade at each end. May work with single blades and particularly on Barehead patterns. This type frame does best with Gimp, Banner, Bowtie, Hot-dog types in my opinion.

Always good to have choice mind:thumbsup:
 
Northfield looks promising as does Mike's Knives option, but as a European I don't stand too much chance of getting the latter :(

I'm not a fan of the oak leaf in general but I think the bomb may look pretty good off center. Hopefully we get to see the in process pictures soon.

Loving the Tidioute shield on the jigged bone model...much better than the hot dog. I wish they would do the Northfield banner/crown on the stag models....looks good on a long frame knife.
