I'd say the dye job meets my expectations for the type of bone and coloring used. That said, there isn't a single one in that bunch that I would turn down - they are very pretty knives. I will be hoping for a little voodoo magic to assist in me finding one.

The bone is looking great on these. I was lucky enough to reserve one and gambled on the bone. Definitely hoping for a darker one but they do all look great to me.
Still unsure I made the right choice after seeing all these fantastic micarta pics!

I kind of want to get the bone version now with the hope that the crown lifter is not impossible to open like my micarta. Five days now of stretching the spring and moving it from *almost closed* to open, I still cannot open it without a ridiculous amount of effort once it is fully closed.

I would call GEC and see if they can lighten the spring if you send it to them.

I think it would be hard to sell after disclosing the issue it has. I don't want to sell it without disclosing that issue.

Call GEC and explain whats going on. They are a fine company, and will most likely take care of you. Its a great knife, but yours is malfunctioning. I am sure they would be glad to resolve the issue.

Disclose the strong/hard pull, it will still sell quickly... of course that depends on how much you sell it for, but that's your business.

Something magical happened today. The pull on my caplifter went from impossible to about a 8-9. I have no issues opening it anymore. I'm excited to use this beast now!

My dead skunk is on the way. I also wished for the micarty but this gives me hope. Your dead skunk is very nice indeed.

Dead Skunk arrived today. Real nice pull on both the blade and caplifter. Overall fit and finish is fantastic on these 85 runs. My only complaint is the visible seam lines present on almost every DS acrylic I’ve seen posted. I’m a big fan of this acrylic and have never seen this before and find it a bit disappointing.

Me, too. I normally loath dyed bone, but the GEC pics intrigue me. Looking forward to some "in hand" pics.
