I did not order until well after 2 PM EDT on the day in question, and my knife has not yet been shipped. FWIW, I never got an order confirmation email, either. But I got a PP receipt and a notification that a shipping label was created a little over two weeks ago.

You are in good company with the same scenario, PP receipt and shipping label notification, it should work out. GSJ had said that if you got your PP receipt it will be all good.

I'm not concerned in the least. My only point was that I have the bona fides to establish my order, that it was not one of the early orders like Quiet's, and that it still hasn't shipped - so I don't think they were necessarily shipped in reverse order.

I was getting such a kick out of it I couldn’t stop reading the behind-the-scenes in W&C… but I could imagine from a Moderator perspective there might be some desire to tone that down when the fires are raging.

Trespassers beware- Quiet isn’t as much a “person”, persay… more like something that is unleashed upon you, like a natural disaster.

The problem here is that someone asked if that was what happened and Barry more or less agreed that it was, but in which of the like, four threads on the matter it was, I can't be bothered to go back and look now. Also, I know several folks who were purchasers same as I was, roughly minutes after he got the code working. And where are we? All of us are waiting on our knives to ship, whereas a bunch of padded-post-count people who posted "JUST ORDERED!" like, 20 pages in, were some of the first people to get theirs. So, respectfully, it's ok to disagree, but I think you're wrong.
 
Something interesting that I noticed earlier today, when the "Would you trade your Forum Knife" thread got closed, was that there were only about 60 or so votes.

Out of 500 knives sold, and this being something of a hot button topic, only 60 of us voted on that?? Seems like a pretty low number.

As a data point, I got in the house (remembering back) around 3 or so, central time, on that fateful Tuesday and I rushed to get my order in. I have received my knife, thankfully, I believe it shipped on the second shipping day. I'm planning on opening mine on Christmas! Everyone should have theirs by then!

What am I wrong about? That I ordered after 2 PM that day and was therefore not one of the early orderers? That I have effective confirmation that my order did go through and so I have a knife coming at some point? Or that my knife hasn't shipped yet?

They might have been generally shipped in reverse order, but as I originally said . . . I don't think it is strictly the case that they went in reverse order, or else my late order would have shipped already. I have serious doubts that Barry even knows what precise order they were shipped in compared to the order in which they were placed. And of course you are free to think I'm wrong or think anything else you want. But I think I'm not wrong.

I saw it...honestly can't remember if I voted or not.

This year is the first time I've been in a position to order the forum knife, and 'Had" to have that knife!!

The larger size, lined/rat tailed bolster.....saw cut bone.....clip point??? Heck yes, right up my alley.


But I did not have a strong opinion about a member trading the BF knife for a different out of production knife he wanted, and thought he would enjoy more...

Now...flipping for a cash grab would have had me smashing an angry no vote!!
 
I've been messaged that there was a new code distributed via PM....I really don't care. There's no reason to drop the price like that from the original $999 listing unless you're trying to sell some at that price. Screw that dealer, he intentionally bungled this whole process.
