That's good to hear, thanks for the reply. I thought it was a little weird that what looked like it could be a makeup offering (for those who missed out the first time) was priced a bit lower than the original $800 markup before discount code.
He said that he lowered it due to the fees he lost on PayPal refunds to people who tried to buy it at 1000$. He also added a “no refunds” clause on the 300$ page, to avoid loss of fees that PayPal doesn’t reimburse. I saw it posted but don’t recall where to quote it.

Anyway, what is done is done. I think the main take away is that when you deal with a known shady dealer, shady things are going to happen. Take the 2021 knife as an example. Probably should have seen this coming and not worked with him again. Hindsight and all that. Sounds like a lesson learned and if there is a future BFC knife, it will go through Spark and his business, which is probably how it should be done. Essentially, the HPIC's name is on each knife. It is a great thing for members of this community when it is handled with the respect it is deserved. Clearly, the dealer didn't do that this year to the point that the tradition may be over. Probably should stop feeling "lucky" and giving barry that pat on the back.

I don’t, but I have seen a couple episodes with my wife. It’s the most ridiculous program I’ve ever seen. That’s why I compared it to this thread. Barry stepped in to help when nobody else was. Then folks here are just trashing him. I have a feeling it is because some of you are bitter you can’t flip your 2nd BF knife. Was the process a clusterfuck? Yes, but the knife is exquisite. Just enjoy the knife and move on. Otherwise move to California and try to date one of the Kardashians if you just love drama.You actually watch that show?

You know what would have avoided that problem entirely? Not setting up the sale like a free for all in the first place
We've never been rushed to buy the forum knife in the past...I seem to recall having at least a few days and possibly even a week to order previous forum knives.

Good news is that this seller will never be able to sell the knife for anything near that ridiculous price.
Yup. Folks seem to have forgotten about why it is a bladeforums knife.
And you know what? Most good dealers have been able to handle the whole "don't blatantly sell to those who don't deserve it or flippers" part of the deal, 1 million times better than barry.
