2021 GEC #68 White Owl

Well, not a stag lottery winner but I'm happy to have it.

I posted this before with bad lighting. It actually looks more red in person than this. Almost burnt looking, but I don’t think it is. Anyone else have red ones?

I must say, the improvement is dubious!! It's still an Ow!! Maybe I'll bleach the covers!! Maybe that will add an L!!🤔 Hmmm??

It looks like you have carried it for a verrrrry looooong tiiiiiiiiiime Charlie . We know that you have many pieces of Great Stag to console you .

At least the handles look used!!
I remember, I did a lot of experimenting on "Old Boiley"!! I'm hoping young 'Hooter' will eventually turn out presentable!!🤷‍♂️

Pics / thoughts on my 68 stag. Am OCD about blade rub which is why I generally avoid knives with blades that open at opposite ends. To mitigate this tendency, learned to pinch open the main fully, then open the secondary with the main open and out of the way. Some of the subpar stag is probably due to supply problems or it would have ended up culled IMO. Got pretty lucky with mine. Typical stag appearance, matched well, nice character, slightly thick but not obese, fits the hand. Look how close those blades lay ... of course you can make them rub just by opening because it's super thin. That's not a defect. Domed pins are nice, round, pinched. and lined bolsters look good and no hotspots. Would prefer the secondary to be a straight edge but it's a good size to carry. Of the 68 run I prefer the coco ... it's jack configuration means no blade rub and steel liners give a more substantial feel than softer brass. Credit Jiki Jiki for the cool gladiator ornament.

Slight visible spring gap but IMO that's not a defect on a factory knife. There has to be enough room for the spring to move both directions from the pivot.
