2021 GEC 83 Tascosa Lock Back

Whelp…mine ain’t thicc! This one is something altogether different. It’s as thick as any jigged bone slabs. Lock up is rock solid in both directions. Beautifully made knife.

How do you guys like the stag? With the variety I’ve seen in this run, I can’t say I was surprised, but I was hoping for something a bit more standard. The pile side might as well be natural bone. But hey, it’s unique - I kinda like it.

I actually prefer the less thick covers on yours, Jon, and could see how they might be initially disappointing, being relatively smooth. But the more I look at them, the more I appreciate their unique quality. If you ever tire of it, let me know!

I generally prefer thinner stag over fat. I like it to have some contours, but yours is different. As you said, "unique". I love it 😍
If you decide you just can't stand having it in the house, let me know. We'll work something outdeal.gif

I have a feeling it’s gonna start growing a tap root in my knife drawer pretty soon! Thanks for the affirmation fellas! But if I do decide to move it on, I’ll be sure to check in with y’all first!

I’m very pleased with the stag I received. I like how it’s evenly fat on both sides

I’m not really one to keep multiple knives from a GEC run, but these 83’s are really nice. I think it’s an excellent pattern for stag. The bone ones were probably the nicest of the set, but these are the ones I wanted.
Nice Jon! 😎👍

I am quite picky with my Stag but I do like yours quite a bit, especially the mark side. It's unique without being unsightly. It reminds me a wee bit of my 74, which possesses some of the more unique Stag in my collection.

Indeed. a good looking and unique knife.

Question for you guys who have been around longer…

Does there seem to be a higher occurrence of the stag peaks being ground smooth in this run, or is it just the way this batch fell? Or is it a design and esthetic decision by the cutler? Or just a case of “letting the material tell you how to shape it”?
