Just put my Mount of Olive Wood order in and I’m super excited for my first 77 Yankee Barlow. The Mount of Olive Wood holds a lot of significance for me and I plan to have it in my pocket when I propose to my lovely lady in a few weeks! Super stoked!! Can’t thank Mike and the CK team enough. I am very happy to have secured a Mount of Olives one. As I was checking out I saw the option for a pouch so I grabbed one as well.
I thought a red one would complement this meaningful knife very well.

Tough decision, but I went with stag also. Seems like its getting harder to procure and not many offerings on larger framed knives, so taking a chance and jumping into the stage lotto mix.

I missed all of these, so I can only drink coffee and complain about the angle of the sawcuts - pretty sad.

I went with the Olive wood because there will be chances in the future to get another knife with stag scales. Not to mention I’ve never really “won” the stag lottery in the past. I suspect the opportunity to own an Olive Wood scaled knife in the future will be pretty limited if not impossible.

For once I had access to all the wonderful options and went with sawcut. Might seem boring in hindsight but I like the feel of the flat sides. I'm also the kind of person who likes vanilla ice cream over most other fancier options.

He actually has a nice array of other options available in olive wood on the site, so not impossible. The big difference here is where this particular batch of wood came from and what it symbolizes being "the mount of olives wood" Now that would be tough to top.

I went with stag, I'm sure it'll make a fine addition no matter how smooth or gnarly it may be. Really second guessing not going with mount of olive wood though...
