2022 #77 Yankee Barlow thread

Both option look to be fantastic. Very happy I managed to get on the reserve.

I heard the the WJ was actually the pattern that started the birth of 77s so there maybe some hope for another run…🙏🏼
The 2014 Stag BF, #771114 knife has the PPP stamp on it, so an early #77!
WJs and NF Barlows were both released that year; I forget which was produced before the other.
Bill hasn't decided to allow many SFOs yet. Every once in a while, he has mercy on us and offers a specific knife, like Mike's #77. I'm not sure when I will get another one.

Probably splitting hairs between which was designed and which was produced first. Such a solid platform the possibilities are endless, we may never be able to get to them all.

Indeed a great platform: a little more distraction before we go back to Barlows ;) ;

Wow I think that stag 77 is my new grail. The houndstooth is my favorite shield. You can’t beat this combo.

Edit: Where have I been? I didn’t realize that was a forum knife. What a beauty.

With those olive handles coming I guess that would be the right place to ask if GEC impregnates their wooden scales in some liquid solution to stabilize it and prevent from mold and other nasty stuff? Or is it just polished wood?

I have never seen "mold and other nasty stuff" come off wood. But most of the woods GEC are dense enough and have a high enough oil content that stabilizing would be of no help. But, in the past when they used a wood needing stabilized (for example my tiger maple burl), they have it done by an outside vendor.
