The acrylic turned out pretty nice! It makes me think they could have easily called it Candy Apple Acrylic instead. That's what I think of when I see it anywaySuper nice.

It looks like a piece of hard candy. The brass backing pulls it to the orange side of red.The acrylic turned out pretty nice! It makes me think they could have easily called it Candy Apple Acrylic instead. That's what I think of when I see it anyway![]()
Noticed the same thing. Wonder if it's the pattern, handle material, economic factors. At any rate it may mean things are cooling down which would be nice. This may be antidotal but it appears to me that this pattern is lasting longer on dealers sites. I’ve noticed both the micarta and acrylic are available. It may be their price point. I’ll be interested to see how the Northfields compare.![]()
Flippers and "collectors" that consider their collection as an investment don't feel there is a proper ROI based on the pattern's popularity. So anyone who enjoys knives should have a decent shot at one or two.![]()
I think it reflects the shifting demographic of collectors. In “prehistoric” times the muskrat was a popular pattern. Single spring muskrats were a benchmark of quality makers. This may be antidotal but it appears to me that this pattern is lasting longer on dealers sites. Although this knife isn't my thing, the acrylic with that shield is the winner of this run. Looks very nice.Texture subtle but nice. Shield looks good to go.

After doing that it may just be a swirl in the acrylic. There is no edge that I can feel with my fingernail and it’s translucent down to the brass liner. Thanks Jim!Hold a ligher up to it.![]()

I’m waiting for the Snakewood version but I wish it would come with the tube art and button from the Tidioute versions.Killer acrylic? Check.
Cool shield? Check.
Unusual pattern (single spring muskrat)? Check.
Sweet button and tube art? Check.
Too much time to consider buying one from my top dealer? Check.

I wonder if the Snakewood will have the matchstrike nicks and lined bolsters like the Yellow Rose. I imagine so.I’m waiting for the Snakewood version but I wish it would come with the tube art and button from the Tidioute versions.
