2022 GEC #81 Coon Skinner

I received the acrylic version today...... There is, IMO, nothing to carp about..... For my uses it is a perfect knife..... Lightweight, easy to palm, sensible design and great manufacturing.....

The acrylic is nice.....The grooves give it a good feel and enhance the grip..... I'm not a shield guy, but it looks nice....The inletting is precise, without gaps and the shield is level to the handle......
Great job GEC 👏

This may be antidotal but it appears to me that this pattern is lasting longer on dealers sites. I’ve noticed both the micarta and acrylic are available. It may be their price point. I’ll be interested to see how the Northfields compare. 🤷
Noticed the same thing. Wonder if it's the pattern, handle material, economic factors. At any rate it may mean things are cooling down which would be nice.

Flippers and "collectors" that consider their collection as an investment don't feel there is a proper ROI based on the pattern's popularity. So anyone who enjoys knives should have a decent shot at one or two. 😉

Totally agree. From what I have seen over the years, "muskrat" (this is what I think of this pattern) knives like this from all manufacturers, are not the most popular and don't have a high resale value.

Personally, love the handle materials, hope to see them on other patterns I like.

I think it reflects the shifting demographic of collectors. In “prehistoric” times the muskrat was a popular pattern. Single spring muskrats were a benchmark of quality makers.

Killer acrylic? Check.
Cool shield? Check.
Unusual pattern (single spring muskrat)? Check.
Sweet button and tube art? Check.
Too much time to consider buying one from my top dealer? Check.
Order confirmation received? Check.
I’m waiting for the Snakewood version but I wish it would come with the tube art and button from the Tidioute versions.
