2022 GEC Bayou Trapper #88 Thread

Northfield treatment. Sorry for the confusion..
Oh I should have guessed at that abbreviation. Yes it is surprisingly dapper. I was not going to go for this pattern until I saw that gator whimsy. So glad I did. The blades are great, the build is great, and it just looks so striking. Love the near black coloring on my specimen as well.

I didn't think I would end up with the opportunity to get one of the 88 bayou knives, but got an email this morning that I had one waiting! Tough decision between the ironwood and the alligator for which one is the best of this run. They are both excellent.

Soooooooooooooooo, what's the problem? Get em both.

My gator and ace arrived to join my yeti. Both are fine examples. I think my favorite is the black micarta ace. It's a far better user than the yeti due to the grippyness of the micarta, and how do you beat that spade shield.

Just got a call from the the Post Office downtown. Nicholas (my mailman) said a package had come in this morning and that there was a snapping/gnashing sound coming from the package and that it was twisting about on the sorting table. Wonder what it could be????? I'll find out I guess when I go up to the mailboxes this afternoon.

I've got the package in hand. As I approached my mailbox it was distorted and was oddly shaped with a heck of a thrashing going on in the mailbox. Took me a bit to get the key in the slot and a bit of an effort to open the slightly sprung mailbox door. The ride home was something!!! The little box was flipping and flopping and causing quite a commotion and I had a heck of a time getting it through the gate, the back door, and in the house. Our little doxie "Utah" is crouched in the kitchen corner and I'm sad to say so is our German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd mix watchdog "Coco". I've got my shotgun handy just in case whatever's in the box attacks me when I open it. I'll let y'all know what's in the box after I open it after I've had my dinner.

After a hearty dinner of Carnitas, black beans, guacamole, and salsa, I felt I had the strength to open the box so, I got the box in a headlock and with a single-blade Sowbelly opened it and out tumbled/slithered a Swamp Green, jigged bone, Bayou Trapper!!

A quick picture and here it is.

I know, I know, I had one and made a very satisfactory trade with it but then said; "What the heck", and decided I needed one so I up and ordered one. Just like all the rest of them, it's a very well built knife with a unique shield and etch along with an appropriate shade of green - ya might say swamp like.
