2022 Knives Listed on Buck Website...and then Delisted...Live Again!

Received the 112 Tribute knife from Larry today. First impression is that it is a hefty knife in hand (6.6 oz vs. 6.1 oz for the standard 112 50th knife). No wobble in blade open or closed. Blade is dead center when closed. I love the inverted stamped side of the blade. Not so much with all of the etching on the other side. I wish the sheath had 50th on it somewhere, but it is stamped MADE IN USA on the back. Overall, I am glad I purchased the knife @ BCCI pricing.

That Saunter is intriguing.

Would it be possible to see it next to a 110?

The Tribute brings back memories for me!! I bought one of these in 1973 for $20 new at an Army-Navy surplus store. I carried it for 15 years or so before gifting it to one of my young employees. It served me very well.

Thanks.
I knew it was smaller, but your pics help put it hold n perspective.
I like it!

My 212 Pro came in. The wife really likes it and has already put a claim in on it, lol. I don't blame her... Desert Ironwood, S45VN, and brass is a hard combination to beat.

Overall it's an absolutely gorgeous knife, and I'm pretty pleased with it.

I do have one irritation with it though... And to be honest, this irritation is the reason I almost never purchase a Buck knife over ~$150. The grind. Woof. I expect a much, much better grind on a knife that costs this much. :(

Fixall,
What edge are we looking at here? I had an LE 119 a few years ago that the tip point was like that and sent it back. Buck tried to fix the grind and removed about 1/8" off the blade, sent it back and it had the same chisel edge (There was no fixing it). They replaced it for me. Return it and ask for a new one!

That's a top down view of the tip of the 212 Pro.

I might actually do that. I've only ever sent one knife in to Buck, but it was a pretty stellar experience.

Is that a striker pin to keep the edge from contacting the back spring when snapping closed? I hope so. I like that feature on a slip joint.
I didn't check that when I had it open, but it sure looks like it. I can't think of another reason to have that pin in that location.

Received my 112 Tribute today. Was really looking forward to getting my hands on this knife. The micarta is great! But to be honest, I haven't been this disappointed in a knife in quite some time. Maybe I built it up in my mind a little too much.
The blade centering is off to the point it almost rubs the liner on the one side. Also, it takes significant effort to open and doesn't truly "snap" into the fully open position. Its more of a coaxing it and a soft lock into open. In fairness, this was out of the box and I haven't broken it in at all yet. Judging by the amount of compound on all of the surfaces, I'm sure there is a significant amount that can be worked out.
The other thing is the lock bar and the blade don't line up. Based on how much the blade was off center, I wasn't really that surprised, but again, it really did kind of knock me down a notch in terms of my excitement having received it today after anticipating it very much.
Not a post bashing Buck at all, so hopefully no one takes it that way. I know not every knife can be perfect. I've been collecting since Buck's and Puma's since I was about 8 years old and more recently Spydercos, so I'm not unfamiliar with some knives/models being a little pricier. The materials on this knife really do seem outstanding. Just a little bit of a "wind out of the sails" type feeling after splurging and really looking forward to this one.

For the price of admission, that one should be going back!! No excuses for it.

I'd have to agree with Daniel Daniel . That one should go back.
