The deep green, oooh, aaah... I am lovn' it. Can't wait to see how my 72 looks. My Green Bone arrived today . Checked it out carefully and every thing is as nice as hoped it would be . There is a little Up & Down when in the Locked Position but I have never had a Locked Back that didn't . Well I did once , but then the lock would not release without some painful effort to the thumb . I expected the jigging to be a little rough but it is finished off smooth . Very happy with the darker color . I did not know if I would keep it or not just based on some of the early photos but it goes look much better when it is up close and personal . Since the shape of the 72's and 73's is my favorite , I guess that I will keep it .paulhilborn

Should be fine, but personally I'd use mineral oil, aka cutting board oil. Stable, colorless, odorless, good for wood and food-safe in case your knife gets called up for meal prepping, or more importantly meal eating. I got a big bottle from the online jungle shop and it'll probably last forever unless I actually start using it on cutting boards.Fashionably late to the party. This was delivered this week. I like the lock up. Feels solid. The action seems grimey. I'll have to flush it out. Has anyone tried wd40 to flush? Not sure if that will ruin the wood covers.
I dropped some mineral oil and it loosened a bit. Seems like I need a lighter oil to get some grime out.Should be fine, but personally I'd use mineral oil, aka cutting board oil. I just keep adding mineral oil, working the action, and wiping away what shows up on the spring and blade tang. In addition to flushing the grime, I feel it helps to mate the bearing surfaces to each other. You should have seen how much buffalo-horn dust was in the joint of my Case BackPocket, pretty impressive, but now she's nice and smooth.I dropped some mineral oil and it loosened a bit. I prefer Worcestershire sauce on my steak.I flushed it with wd40. The red straw fits perfectly. Dried it off and dropped some gun oil on it for lubrication. It's much better now..
I like the Dark Green, John!!! I've got one with excellent action also, but it has lighter handles!! I might treat it to a coat of Potassium Permanganate!!Like my dark green bone, no play, great action.
