334dave's Alpha-scaled 110 Workman

I wonder what kind of rubber they use on the alphas', exactly? perhaps a good idea for aftermarket mods, if someone can find a source for the grippy stuff.

...Not to worry 'bout the edge Decaf...I'll get 'er "hair-toppin' " sharp when the Bucky gets here...LOL...Gettin' a buncha chickens that the neighbor is gonna trap and I'll have a bit of fowl butchery to do...:D

Darrtls, are you near Wesly Chappel ? My son works at the Madza dealership there and I could send ol Bucky to work with him.You will have to wait till it gets its fishy test at Sunshine Skyway <this weekend> Is fish guts the slickest stuff out there ? Aeromatic for sure!

ooops..........

...LOL...Nope...Not near Wesley Chapel...I'm real close to the Pasco , Hernando county line. Just east of 19 and north of 52...If ya know where Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center is, I'm about a mile from there. Wesley Chapel is some 40 miles south of me give or take a foot or two...LMAO...:D;)

Do you fish??? Ben to Skyway? Its nice,Fish for Grouper ,Kings ect OUT OF YOUR TRUCK!!!!!!!

...Sure haven't been to the Skyway yet. Spent a lot of time at Bayport pier a few years back but did nothing better than a few mangrove that ran maybe 15 inches. Been working some horrendous hours the last year or so. Not sure when I'm gonna see any daylight either. I'd guess you could do all your filleting with your Buck Ulti-Mate Ocean Fillet Knife right there as well huh?...( required knife content )...LOL...We'll have to get together one weekend and you can show me how to snag them grouper...:D

Darryls, RB gits the fishy test this sat {tommrow} will have it in the uspo on mon or tues. She really is non-slip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If i had a throw around 110, id make some really nice rubber scales for it. id tap the brass liners for some screws and then counter sink the screws into the grips. Or, you could weld on some thin nuts and then finish through into the liners so youd have a longer thread, but then youd have to counter sink in the back of the scales too. I dunno, just some quick thoughts.

humm i had a throw around 110... my rt thumb wont bend, having been cut in half, so holding on as well as i once did is not possable ...
the alpha was a bit large and i had this extra set of grips with it and they were all on the work bench ,,,
need is the mother of invention and serendipity the father!:D

You did tap the liners? I thought you used kind of like what they use on knife blade pivots. Sorry!

YEP is why i have one striped out! was a little over on that tap as was not stright and then i over tighten the one screw... each set of grips comes with hex heads... trax put some glue on it for pass around...
i would do both now...as brass is bairly enught..
darn 'sway wants one in 112 size... i may try another 110 ...
gots to clean up the basement... first..

Ol Rubber Bucky passed the test ! Had a 14 " grunt that had to be butterflied {cut out back fin}First rubbed scales over sides to get it nice and slimy,It did NOT lose all of the "SLIP FACTOR".For regular use as a fishing knife a fixed blade is the way to go,RB did get the job done well...If Buck does decide to make a version of this knife I would sugest some sort of sitpling [texture] Darryls will be giving the next report. Thanks Dave!
