.38 Special!!

Lyle, that looks simply superb! These are shaping up to be a fabulous knife and I can't wait to pocket one. Missed out on the jigged bone but the smooth bone will still tickle my fancy :D

The Grinlings aren't too shabby either, looking really nice dressed in stag

The Grinlings remind me of a Case 6380, with the exception of the pen blade. How does it compare size-wise?

I am really enjoying this Grinling so far (so much that i just ordered another one in black camel) i have been using it around the farm and the little cut off pen (coping? Sheepsfoot?) Is very handy for suckering.

are there any variations of the sfos not already sold out? The ivory bone sounds especially great. If anyone can enlighten me on where to stay informed I'd appreciate it.

Thanks all for the interest and nice comments.Maybe you will give me your autograph too Dave.:)

Jake ,here is a proof of my version without the new jigging and my etch.As you can see it has a bar shield. My etch will have Lick ;(Barry's rendition of the little house);then Creek. He did a wonderfully PATIENT job on the blade etch.Proof is not back quite yet, very soon.

Ha Ha! They put your shield on upside down also!!!

:D:D

HA ha hee hee hee, terrific. No wonder we both failed the test.

Case '80 is he same size as the Grinling, lengthwise.

That looks good Lyle, it will be in time for the spring wildflower picking season with my daughter.

It would be great to see GEC do a standard run of tidioute farmers jacks. I couldn't bring myself to use the Northfield versions.

I believe they are...it looks like Mike (knifeswapper) has them listed for early reserve on his website.

No 38 John Chapman Pruning and budding knife, This is the standard GEC version. Next in line I think after the run of Grinling Whittlers.

I haven't even gotten my hands on a Grinling whittler yet and I am already looking forward to seeing the Chapman's! This pattern may just be the one that scratches my itch for a long time to come. Going to be a heck of a utility knife, great looking and a joy in the pocket.

Neither snow nor rain... nor a bright sunny day... kept the post office from delivering a special 38 in time for Easter Sunday.

Very nice, first picture I have seen of one in the wild. I received mine yesterday just havent had a chance to catch a picture of it, really a great knife. Really like that they did an all steel construction on this SFO version and the rat tailed bolsters and shield are great touches.

Yes....

Look how the jigging is pushing the bolsters, Bill Howard and crew just continues to excel.

Very nice knife Jake.

It's all of those details that really bring an old pattern back to life. The skilled hands at GEC made the knives but you guys thought about all these details. Thank you!
