.38 Special!!

Wow-this is really taking shape, I have been so busy that I have missed out on most of the build up - this is really exciting stuff here - Lyle Congrats on making a Dream of yours come True! To have a favourite knife such as your FJ come to life with yourself and Charlie working on them is something pretty special, I hope to own one of those one day GEC are doing a wondrous job with the Bone Jig work.

Neither snow nor rain... nor a bright sunny day... kept the post office from delivering a special 38 in time for Easter Sunday.

Looks like GEC is starting the Chapman pruners now (there's some pics up on the site). Anyone have any guess what kind of jigged wood that is? (looks nice)

Shaggy, I think they are calling it Brazilian Cherry. It's got the little beaver shield on it.

That version with the jigged wood and beaver shield is the one I have reserved. Been wanting a beaver shield knife for a while now.

Anyone know who is selling those American Whittlers? I've emailed the email address on the GEC website a few days ago, but no response.

From the guidelines;

In order to avoid Terms Of Service (TOS) violations, please omit links or referrals to vendors within the forum. ("Deal Spotting" is a violation of the TOS.)
We want the forum to focus upon the discussion of traditional knives...not the purchasing process, prices nor vendors and their websites.

The exception to the rule above is that you may refer other members to vendors who support bladeforums.com via a "Dealer" membership.

Otherwise, if someone inquires where you made a purchase, please take a moment to provide them with the requested information via email or PM.
Do not publish prices or links within the threads as this may be construed as shilling for a particular vendor and violate the TOS.

Thanks,

That is a beautiful knife indeed, those bolsters really compliment the covers. Too bad all the Grinlings were not blessed with the rat-tailed treated steel bolsters :(

Yet another version that demonstrates just how special a majority of their SFO's are and why they are sought after.

This is my burnt stag Grinling Whittler. I also got one in Natural Stag, that will be a safe queen for now. I am loving this knife. The clip blade is substantial enough to do just about anything I need, and the thinly ground secondary blades make some good whittling blades, once the shoulders are knocked off the secondary bevel.
