What steel did you pick? I have the new D3V, and to my knowledge it is the first (and so far only) D3V in the wild. It will be a safe queen. I would like a CPM 20CV as a user.

I got it in 20cv , my 2.7 is 20cv and it really is amazing so it was tough choice but justified. I'm not familiar with the delta 3v what is the story there ? Is it going to be better than the standard 3v or..?
 
It is a newer heat treat, developed with Nathan Carothers. He literally chops nails in half with it to demonstrate how the edge holds up. Next generation improvement on an already amazing steel and heat treatment. The 4.1 is the first S!Kevin with the process.

I love S!Kevins!!! Haha I had to pass on the Pressel but when the GAO 6 comes back around I can't wait to get it in the D3V. And while I have 2 old spec 4.1's I'm gonna have a hard time passing on one if they get some well priced ugly Betty's
 
Wow the autocorrect is running rampant! I always love going back to edit my posts because my smart phone makes me sound incoherent. Most times I try to make a :D it wants to make my D a Dennis or Dad or Dr.

I think a lot of the best d3v info is in a thread called "collaboration of the elite".
 
Hey anybody else order a 4.1 second on Oct 19th my order # 10367 ? I ordered it from a friends phone and I don't think I can track it just wondering if anyone has heard anything ?

I ordered one, but have not heard anything. I'm still confused about what I've gotten myself into with this, or how they already knew how many 2nds the are going to be. I don't even know if I am guaranteed a knife or only if it's mid of a waiting list for if a 2nd becomes available by chance. Also, having a bit of buyers remorse, wondering if they are going to reopen factory 1st sales again like they did for the 4.7.

We should be getting them soon ! This is the first offerings of 4.1s so don't have any remorse ! They sold out in minutes so there weren't that many this knife is the ultimate to me and many people. You will be able to sell it on the exchange for 150% so don't feel bad lol Jesus man
 
Hate to burst bubbles here... In this instance the 4.1 factory seconds were offered on a pre-sale basis. This was a weird one in terms of how the seconds normally are sold. It seems like S!K are expecting a certain number of seconds to be generated as they are finishing up the firsts and made those available to buy up front instead of as they come available in small batches. This may mean that they'll be shipped out when they are encountered, so it could be a while, and that seconds may not be available again for awhile until the pre-sale seconds orders are filled.

It is prudent to read the description and conditions of sale fairly carefully when placing an order.
I do not recall what I agreed to when I placed the order but based on what I read at that time I did not expect these to ship for quite a while.

Yeah that was dumb of me lol between the rush to get one before they're gone and the fact that I've never seen factory 2nds presales It Was An Accident waiting To Happen
