Can we get a top-down comparison between the 4.7 and the new 4.1?

Curious how pronounced the palm swell on the 4.1 is.

Go back to post #124. I put a bunch of handle pictures side by side with the 4.7 and a thorough comparison of the handles. The new 4.1 handle is straighter at the spine with a little less 'hourglass' shape around the front fastener hole.

I somehow missed that entire page of photos. Thanks for taking the time to take them all.

Yes, thank you for taking the time to post up all those shots TR. Do you find the handle on the 4.1 a little more compact than the 4.7? Not just in girth, but overall does it feel more compact?

This thread is really making me wish I had not canceled my 4.1 starter order :(

The 4.1 wasn't even on my radar then. Man was I overlooking that one.

Back when there was a flash pre-sale for 4.1s and 2.7s, I opted for a 2.7, and have been slightly sick about it since. I knew it was coming down the pike, but I was kicking myself for not jumping on one then. Not sure if my commiseration is helping...

Really not other than the girth. It is also slightly straighter on the spine, and so it feels a little "slimmer". It has enough belly/contour though, so it seems to lock into your hand like the 4.7's handle. That's the only way I can describe the 4.7 - it locks into your hand. This one does the same thing, but is ever so slightly less of a handfull. If you have big mitts, you may find your finger tips digging into your palm on some grips (reverse). It is about 1/8" shorter, but I don't notice that part at all.

Maybe they will show up as extras one of these days. I also went for a 2.7 and am very glad I did. Great compact blade with a usable handle size! I ordered both and because of bigger than expected medical bills canceled the 4.1. At least it is a want and not a need ;)

Honestly, I expected the new spec. 4.1 to look bigger than the old spec. 4.1 It is slightly longer in both the blade and handle dimensions though. I was fondling both the old and new 5.1 last night and this morning. The longer handle of the 5.1 in a basic grip does seem to be wasted in my hand, but it does allow for you to move the grip back on the handles very securely for some light chopping. I love the ergonomics of the new spec., but in my hands it is only slightly better than the old spec. Putting the new spec. in hard use might reveal as of yet unknown benefits.

Like the new 5.1, the new 4.1 has jimping running further down the spine. With the 5.1 I do really like this for when I am chocked up into the finger choil. That grip places the center of gravity essentially about the middle of the hand at the middle finger, and the longer jimping allows for some very secure fine work with that large of a knife. I am excited to see how the new spec. 4.1 longer jimping comes into play.

Full disclosure, I am a fan of finger choils on larger one knife options like the 5.1, and I am also a fan of jimping. I had an old spec. jimpless 4.1 in 3V, and I didn't like it. That is why I have the new spec. on order

That's what I was wondering, thank you T.

ahhh, someone tell me that I don't need a 4.1 and a 4.7...

Or you guys just go buy all the 4.1 seconds that are for sale right now so I cant spend money on one.

This is going to be trouble. I'm going to guess that more seconds sell than even become available. I think we need some clarification on this. I'd love to have one, but not this way.

are you thinking that they are not suppose to be live since the production schedule says to check on Wednesday?
