710 being Discontinued

The 950-1 is being discontinued (black handle).
But only that one, not the entire line. I am a Rift addict, and I made sure to ask if the entire line was going away. I prefer the 2-tone anyway, so I can dye the scales.

I don't think they're planning it for 2017. The new knives are listed on their page and the 710 didn't get a face lift.

Also, and this is kind of odd; I cannot find the 710 on Benchmade's website. Am I missing something?

The discontinued knives have already been removed from the shop portion of their site.

Bye bye 710.

Why you got the axe.... I'll never know.

Are all 710 models discontinued or just one with D2 steel? How about KW M390 blue model?

On their site KW say's that the 710-1401 exclusive is discontinued also. That when their gone their gone. I'd get one while you still can. It's an exceptional knife!

I'm going to pick up a 710 from Knifeworks, never owned one before, seriously thinking about getting the exclusive as well.

Just ordered a 710-1401 for myself and a regular 710D2 as a birthday present for my 'to be 16' nephew.
I don't care to much for the 'new' designs

Never owned it but it looks fantastic. If money is not an issue for you, I say go for it.

My favorite safe queen in this category is a KW 710-1 in M390. Rounded spine and all, with a low serial number too, I really don't need another, although a 710HS remains NIB and unwrapped only a handful of times. I will miss seeing these rather famous knives in the annual catalog, but understand when the call comes through to shut that line down. Secondary market being what it is If (you and I) ever needed another it shouldn't be a problem, especially for the stock D2 version.

Seeing Benchmade get rid of the 710 is like Spyderco getting rid of the Military imo...such a shame to see it go.

IMHO 710 will come back with better steel, new scales, and maybe with standoffs in regular version.

I'm probably one of the few if not only person n the world that doesn't care for open back and standoffs. I much more prefer knives with closed backs. I was looking at the custom Grips on the Benchmade site and the open back on the g10 tan is what turned me off.

this is a shame. there is only a handful of benchmades that are true classics and overall winners in designs for folks who arent extreme benchmade fanatics and collectors and they cut 2 of those. i just dont get it?

the 710 was one of those handful of designs worth spending the benchmade map top dollar money on. real shame.........

Hmmm. Really thought this was a joke at first. Hard to imagine. A real classic.

I guess it wasn't selling.....why else disco such a great knife??
I have a 710-1401 & a 710-2. Love both!
