#77 Barlow 2016 - What configuration would you like?

The blade on the new ones are a definite improvement in my eyes. I'm not a big fan of matchstrike pulls, but I like that the pull extends out to the clip and the swedge ends closer to the point.

Looking forward to my Copperhead even more now! :D

Agreed, the new clip point is killer, and definitely an improvement in my opinion. It's helpful to see the two together, thanks bonky!

The picture of two is a comparison between the Old Tan and the Copperhead sawcut. I also notice that the newer style clip has a bit more belly than the previous version.

Great to see them side by side. The new blade is more attractive to my eyes. And the copperhead is just rich.

After seeing all of these awesome photos, I have changed my mind a little on my favorites. Although they are all amazing, the green and red are the ones I like most.

That green reminds me a lot of the green paint on my great aunts' front porch of their farmhouse. I spent a lot of hours just sitting on the porch swing when I was a kid. I stained our porch green just to reminisce.

I vow to get one some day, when the price is right. Which won't be 300+.

Thanks everyone for sharing, and congrats on your beautiful knives!

The grind on these blades is very very thin, very well done.

When we finally saw the covers on GEC's current events, I had decided that the micarta would be my favorite. After all, it's my favorite cover material. And I think it is my favorite - but something about this Copperhead is mesmerizing. It's alluring, and it's rich and complex. It looks especially traditional, too. This is the knife I decided to sharpen for carry.

Some more pic. I haven't found a reason to complain on any of them yet, typically fantastic fit and finish. They are all pinchable with effort, which I expect to become "easily pinchable" after flushing the joints. Mike and GEC have a grand slam on their hands, yet again...

Beautiful set you have! I dropped the ball not reserving mine this year. But hey there is always the next run. Great score!

That copperhead looks great. Hope to snag one! Such a nice rich color from what I've seen. Heck they all look like winners! Great job Mike Latham and GEC!

Oh boy, oh boy! Just checked the tracking and mine are out for delivery a day early. Happy Friday!!! :applouse:

Yep the green Sawcut looks better in hand than in photos. The dark green areas end up looking black in pics but in hand you can see the dark shade of green. Here are some photos of mine. The blade is ground extremely thin but the edge bevel is horrible. Otherwise perfection.

This clip point blade looks like it could be a clipped version of the last run of CK 85 ez open spear's with the long pull. Can anyone take a comparison photo?

Yep, nicely ground. I like TheApostleP's commentary on GEC blades - "they come 'edge ready'". This one sharpened up nice and quick, though. I've had some others that took a while.

Mark side is great, pile side is just one big nasty bur with corrosion spots. But yes, I will be setting a new edge when I get home :)

Got mine today, very happy with the final product. F&F is near perfect, pinchable blade as advertised, look great. The only thing I would change is the polished finish on the micarta. Just my personal preference, but, I like how the previous run of micarta 77s and 85s are finished ,the bone linen is very attractive though. I really find the 77 frame to be a near perfect size for me. I have missed out on every TC Barlow run, but these take the sting away, and the 14 & 15 may be to small for my liking. Quick shot of my 77s, these are a hit, thank you GEC and Mike Latham

I had a really nice Boker barlow, jeez, in my teens to 20s, that handle material is what I had. That is what a barlow should look like to me.

Yeah man, this is probably the most traditional feeling knife I've laid hands on. Inspired my new search for a copperhead sawcut TC. Looks like it came from an old hardware store.

Here she is hanging out with some of the jewelry I wear, goes nicely with the yellows and brown accents and silver patina:

Once upon a time in the spring I had a couple of last year's run of 77s, but I didn't end up carrying them. The neat thing now is the brand of jeans I wear has watch pockets that are just about big enough to take a whole #77 frame, certainly big enough to be comfortable carrying there.

I'll have to message Mike to see if any 77 spear points were made with copper bone. I have one with micarta scales, natural micarta.
