#78 American Jack

Snakewood with abalone shields and bubinga with ivory shields. They were very limited run, even for back then, less than a dozen each. My apologies, off topic, should be in Lets Talk GEC.
I am patiently waiting on stag 78s and buying every other cool knife that I see.

Very classy. I don’t think I have ever seen ebony, the cloud shield, and a long pull all on the same GEC View attachment 817245

I knew this was going to be the best of the run. I love ebony in northfield trim.

@Travman they just released this one (ebony, long pull, cloud)

It is classy! I like it alot.
IIRC - This was one of the first Northfields to have Ebony covers. CK's Farmer jack in 2012. Ebony started out being used on Tidioutes.

Knife Connection has the single blade Cocobolos up for individual viewing! Good luck! Some of them look pretty nice, but I am going to hold pat with my Ironwood. Those Ironwoods still seem to be the best of the entire 78 run so far. Of course we have yet to see the Appaloosa and Stag. Thank you KC for taking the time to put up these photos. This hobby can get expensive, and I appreciate the additional help to make wise decisions.

Indeed it is - but is it their best release of 2017?

No clue, I was just playing on words. I know what you were meaning in your initial question, but it’s not something I can answer.

I will say, out of the 3 GEC’s I bought this year (a stag 35, a 73 from 2015, and this 78) the 78 takes it. I really like this 2 blade version and I think a nice natural patina will really make the white bone stand out.

Better pic than I just had up:
