#9 Esquire

Thanks for the pics!! Ebony looks killer but all my GEC are ebony. Thinking of changing it up w the pearl acrylic

That blue corduroy looks fantastic on a pen knife! I am really not sure whether I should wait to see what the mother of pearl Northfield will be like, or whether I should just go for the bluey!

Oh my! The denim looks nice

That blue corduroy looks fantastic on a pen knife!

One fun fact being, both the Blue Denim and the Blue Corduroy are made from the same pattern of acrylic, cut in two different orientations-- Blue Denim laterally with(in) the striping, Blue Corduroy against it.

I thought the Blue Corduroy was mis-applied to the previous Maverick, as the horizontal lines fight against the gentle curves of the #62 frame.

I think it looks perfect here on the #9.

Blue Denim is of course compelling in its own right, with sparkles in its depths that are evident to the naked eye but don't show up in most pictures unless exaggerated:

It would be fun to have an Esquire in each of the blues, knowing it's the same material.

Does anyone have a side-by-side picture with a peanut? I like the idea of a 3" knife for dress pant/suit carry, but I have never warmed up to the tiny peanut. The esquire looks a little more robust. Hopefully it is.

I don't have the pix, but I would suggest you look at the 2 blade 08 Pemberton from Great Eastern. I'm not sure the Esquire would be more robust than a Peanut. It is 2 7/8 inches closed to start with. Both blades are on a single spring making it very slim in profile. It is not a robust knife.

The anticipation....waiting for the snakewood!
I may go for an ivory too, depends on how broke I am :D

I really like the blue denim version & I also like the st patty's day version which nobody else seems to talk about lol. :)

I agree with Sarah. The blue cord is the one. It just looks right to me. The gray pearl and ebony are nice too. I'm on such a small knife kick lately. Really liking the single spring two blades these days.

spec comparisons, the Esquire has the shortest blade and weighs the least, among these:

Esquire 1 11/16" blade, 2 7/8" handle, weight 28 grams
Peanut 2 1/16" blade, 2 3/4" handle, weight 35 gms
Pemberton 2" blade, 2 3/4" handle, 47 grams (2 blade version, single blade is 33 grams)
Conductor 2 1/4" blade, 3 3/8" handle, 45 grams

Thanks for those dimensions Jon.

I think the Esquire's blade is going to be too short to be in my knife-world after all. That's Lilliputian!

I didn't realise how the acrylic sparkles, it looks like it will definitely suit this pattern!

Don't tempt me! :D

All of these pics of the new acrylic look awesome. I don't think you could go wrong w any handle choice
