99 Wallstreet on the horizon, who's excited

Update :
After spending a couple of days with my 99 American Elk I would just like to add this has become one of my Gec all time favorites!!
The action or walk and talk if you will on this little jewel is just phenomenal . It’s a different flavor from most of Gec’s Being it’s a lock back. So so so smooth I’m really enjoying this one and another well done masterpiece from Gec and Thank you Gec and Barry@gunstockjack for giving me the opportunity to have this beautiful traditional in my collection.
I am enjoying it immensely beyond words :)

I have a couple extra 99 stags and one extra 99 orange bone. I'd like them to go users or collectors that missed out on them on this run (not folks with a couple already who are looking to make a profit). If you were hoping to get one, but didn't, and you don't want to pay secondary market prices for them, please send me a PM. I'll let you pick from what I've got and will sell at a breakeven price for me.

Quick little disclaimer: I know rules say that this is a non-commercial sub-forum. I'm trying to do a nice thing for the folks on the porch before putting my extras up for the general browsing public. If this post should be taken down, just send me a quick PM and I'll replace this post with a nice pic of my 99s. Happy Thanksgiving to ya'll.

Awesome gesture Dan :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I just picked one up (well after the initial drop obviously) in stag. My first GEC after reading so much great stuff.

I gotta say, fit and finish is excellent on the liners and bolsters, however there is a little vertical blade play which is a minor annoyance, but its something I understand. It looks like my stag is a little fatter than many posted elsewhere, which I don't mind as it swells perfectly to fill my hand a bit more. Plus, I carry all my traditional folders in a belt sheath so I don't worry about it being too thick in pocket :-)

It came super sharp out of the tube, and I intend to carry and use it a lot. Looking forward to more GEC's in the future, maybe not lock backs though.

Nice looking knife. The 99 is one of my favorite patterns. Maybe my favorite after all. I would call your stag very nearly perfect thickness, based on pics? I'm always on the lookout for more 99's.

Thank you! It is a very nice thickness. As mentioned, it swells out right there it should and fits nicely in the hand. Don't mind my dirty ass fingernail, I was placing plants in the field today.

I unwrapped a couple of chestnuts on Christmas morning and discovered that one had a little too much side to side and vertical play and another had this issue:

Sometime between it being photographed for sale on these forums and it reaching me it appears to have been dropped. The tip on these 99s is very, very fine. Does anyone have any suggestions on a repair? I expect the best option is to shorten the blade length, as opposed to taking up the edge. Or should I send it in and see if GEC can assist?

Very nice Elk on that one and, a bit off topic, but a Bantons I have never had. Can't even find the regular bottle in my parts anymore.

It’s become such a cult hit that they can’t keep it on shelves. My wife works for their distributor and she can’t even get any. This is a barrel select from our favorite cocktail bar, they bought a barrel, which is about the only way you can even get any now a days.

It’s good! But not something I will pay more than retail for or go way out of my way to find. I’ll just enjoy it when I find it :-)

If it arrived like that I'd send it back to whoever I bought it from.

Absolutely love this pattern and blade combo. Pair that with American chestnut and this is the first GEC that I had to have 2 of. I call the one with all the black spots my "Dalmatian". I also have a really nice elk from this run as well.
