A 2016 Forum Knife. An apology, and The Crossroads!

I've never owned (or held) a HJ, so this would be wonderful. Since a Lambsfoot is seemingly off the table at least for this year, this Harness Jack is very appealing. That and second to that is that old Robeson Radio Jack. That knife has some serious soul!

Sounds like it has the makings of a cool knife. Whatever the blade, spear, clip, or sheepfoot, I hope it's a nice big blade with a heavy swedge.

After googling images for random HJs I can't say that the ones with the clip do a lot for me. I much prefer the wide spear or to go completely unique with an 11031 style sheepsfoot. I guess that's why we vote though.

I don't suppose we could get a long straight matchstrike pull like the old Remington's had?
 
Here's another view of the HJ2 punch. It's sharp on the tip but not the edge: perfect for service as a MARLINSPIKE!!!

This is great news, Charlie! I really look forward to seeing this thing unfold.

While I'd still prefer my original suggestion of a sheepsfoot main I definitely wouldn't be opposed to a clip.
Since we're still dreaming:
Ebony, cocobolo, or some dark jigged bone
Long pull match strike clip or sheepsfoot
Lined and pinched and/ or slanted bolsters
Bar shield
Maybe even all steel construction:eek:
And 1095 of course
 
I haven't posted at all before but iv read many, many a thread on this forum. So as a first time post if a rookie like my self were interested in purchasing one of the 2016 HJ that is being talked about how would I (ahem I mean a rookie) go about doing that. Ie subscriptions contracts etc as well as what kind of time frame or pre orders take place. Thank you for the replies in advance Josh

You're going to have to follow along with the process, and that can take a while. At some point the details will be completed and a price and how to purchase will be posted. You want to get in on the pre-order. I'm pretty sure both the last two years runs sold out before delivery.
 
I am definitely in for this! Seems like every time I've read this thread the ideas changed but I'm interested in each idea!

I'm liking the clip or the drop to contrast the Washington Punch SFO with the spear last year.
 
I'm in!That HJ2 is a great looking knife with the pointed punch. Made as an EE it would be outstanding! You really can't go wrong with a clip or drop. Thanks Charlie.
