When replying using a quote with pictures, the message box will contain all the script from the post you want to answer, just delete what you do not need in the quote, remove the IMG in brackets along with the photo link and that should leave just the words you need.

Thanks Rusty. I wasn't sure how you went about it. I just see a lot of threads with several of the same photos on the same page and always wondered why. Sounds easy enuff to me !! I always just refer to the post number and/or page number with the photo I am wondering about. That's seems to be the lazy mans way.:D

Agree with everything Kanuck just said

The Canal Street should have the higher pull and cut swedges, IMO.
The Schrade's lines look purposeful, whereas CS's prototype blade design looks random or accidental.
The CS looks like a "flattened out" version of the Schrade, losing some of that intentional third dimension.
They could make a class knife out of it, with some detail adjustments.

Since I'm just starting my traditional collection, anything with multiple blades appeals to me. With that said, it appears there is little interest in anothe stockman. I did, however, notice the 4-bladed congress on the Canal Street website. It is listed at less cabbage than the swell center, and sure is purdy. Any love for the congress?

Lots of love for a Congress style in my camp. I have one by Queen and it's just about perfect.

Let's run this thread for a couple more days, then take an informal poll like the first one!
Get your ideas in!!!

My first choice of the CS offerings would be the serpentine, either the stockman or the jack, I guess I like the jack better. Good handle shape and a little bit different, for my little collection with having 2 blades on one end. I'm not sure why everyone seems to dislike the CS shield so much, personally I like it, it's distinctive if nothing else.

I'm with you. Although I have a couple of nice Stockman patterns, I don't have a serpentine stockman.

And that serpentine Jack... it would be an easy knife to carry with that belly in it. Even if it was a bit large, the curve would make it sit nicely in the pocket. And that is something I am interested in; this will not be a safe queen. I want this knife for just a little bit of show off rights at a future gun show, so something distinctive is a must.

On the other hand, it needs to be useful so that I carry it around.

I could go for either of those serpentines. Or that astonishingly beautiful AAPK forum knife belonging to 2 Brothers on the first page of this thread.

Out of the patterns that Canal Street has to offer, I would have to go with the Swell Center Jack with modifications.
Greg

I'm liking that swell center jack, especially with some modifications. Was it determined if anyone had one, or is it still just a prototype? I would kind of like to see a picture of it closed.

I can't decide if I'm looking forward to this process getting down to selection, or dreading it. There are going to be some tough choices to make!

Steve, see posts 55 and 56, they don't quite have them in production yet, should be out in May, but they're making up a prototype that I'll snap some pictures of as soon as it's ready.

The Swell Center Jack with modifications and QC

More than anything in GEC
But not more than Queen

I have been wanting a pattern like post #7. Is it really called a swell center jack? Or is it a coke bottle pattern? It does not really matter I guess, I am in for the knife. I think a long pull with a swedge as illustrated really defines the clip blade well. I would prefer bone over ebony, but not a deal breaker.

Of what I've seen from CS I like the serpentine jack. That being said, I'm not a real fan of the elongated bolsters.

I do like the CS folding hunter with jigged bone handles. The folding hunter I use in the field (and I'm sure most here) has delrin handles (schrade model 25). It might be nice to have a nicer handled field knife like this one shown here.

I'll agree with that!! I had go get one as soon as I saw the knife, CSC are now using Stainless Steel liners which gives the knife a more refined look as opposed to the regular brass liner material.
