Ditto. I think I'll be in, too, for that! I like the longer blades just like they are, including the "monster" pen blade. It sure is nice. I wasn't looking being in on this until I saw those photos. It's a very nice knife.

But, if it has to shrink a little, I'm okay with that, too. I wouldn't want to see the overall length go below 3 3/4 or so, though. What do you guys think?

Oh, I forgot to ask, will it be S30V or D2? Oh, yeah!!!

Damn! In my excitement I completely forgot to ask about the steel! I'll find out Monday, looks like 440C and not D2, but without the heat treat it's hard to say. Whatever it is is what we'll be getting, as it's hard for them to change steels with the small volume they do.

Although I love GEC's, I am really sold on this Canal Street swell center jack. I hope we go this route, and I hope we don't shrink the length.

Mamba, I doubt it VERY, VERY much, that whole butt end is engineered together like a piece of artwork, it'd take a complete re-tooling to change it. That knife is what it is, there's no room for any adjustments other than possibly a custom shield.

I'm no engineer, but I kinda thought that from your fine pics. I love it either way.

If this was the knife I guarantee my initials would go on the butt if it isn't used for any other engraving...maybe creating a heirloom knife.
