A different EDC option?

Even pepper spray requires training , practice and good judgement . If a person goes around insulting others in rude and boorish fashion , nothing will save them from their inevitable comeuppance !

Who is the child now? You're actively seeking out posts I made that have literally nothing to do with you, then making personal attacks. You're extremely emotional and maybe a tad unhinged.

Yes Merde , I have " become as a child " so that I might communicate on your level .

I sought and I found . No actually YOU started this with an unfounded personal attack with name calling . Reap what you sow .

I don't enjoy being castigated for a "political agenda " that was totally a invention of your paranoia - it's called projection (look it up ) . Now you have the gall to call ME " emotional and unhinged" ! You are really very funny because you are so self righteous in your political fanaticism that you can't comprehend that you will get a negative response from your abuse . If you continue down that path , God help you sir , because no weapon will !

I said you were being doltish in making an assumption regarding the intent of the poster that you were addressing. My political opinions aren't evident beyond my statements regarding gun control. You're creating fields of straw men at this point.

In regard to the emotional and unhinged comment, I made said comment because you made it your hobby to not only respond to my post that was directed at you, but also to find my other post that was in no way related to you and reply with some silly nonsense that was, once again, entirely assumptive(I never said one shouldn't seek out training for combatives). That entire post is a result of you being so blinded by emotion that you irrationally went after another post not even related to this conversation.

I will, once again, outline my stance for your benefit. An individual claimed the OP should think about carrying a gun instead of leaving it in his car. You made a massive leap and assumed that the poster was suggesting a gun alone would save OP from some sort of violence. The poster never said nor implied that training was not necessary; you inferred it and came off as abrasive. My comment was pointing out that your statement was the exact same argument Hillary and her cohorts use to detract from the second amendment(only highly trained individuals should have access to guns). I called you a shill, because you seem like a shill.

For your next reply, leave out the silly ominous message at the end. It makes you look like a buffoon to suggest that somehow I'm in danger for bringing your negative qualities to light. Step away from the keyboard, tough guy.

For the record, I'm done with this silliness in thread. These are unnecessary bumps that aren't even related to the initial topic. If you want to continue, you can reach me through PM.

Oh Merde , you really are a pathetically paranoid silly dude . My message was intended for your benefit entirely . I meant that if you conduct yourself in public with total strangers with the flagrant disregard for manners and polite discourse that you have evidenced towards me , that eventually some fellow political hothead will mirror your unfounded aggression in a violent rather than verbal manner . This is just social skills 101 but apparently you missed the class . Good martial arts and self defense programs will also put strong emphasis on how NOT to start fights . My point is, if you insist upon going about verbally assaulting people you don't even know that you will eventually get a bad response . You're Welcome ,for the free lesson in etiquette ! Your danger is in yourself and has nothing to do with me - you're projecting AGAIN .

This one would work, like a mini foldable kitchen knife. Slashy, stabby, grippy, waveable. What else can we ask?

Hey Peacent ! Gorgeous pics as always . Agree the XL Espada is kinda oversized for public carry . The Large Espada 5.5" blade is plenty big enough and an excellent choice where legal . The 5.5" Talwar is equally fine for SD / emergency carry . Either will take up a whole pocket though .

Thanks, Doc!
I agree that both will make terrific weapons, but find the Espada a much more comfortable and easy carry in the pocket. The XL Talwar is just too wide, so my picks would be the 5.5" Espada or the 4" Talwar, as that one is lightning fast, and so comfortable in the pocket.

Espada is a martial blade, just looking at it reveals that. Both awesome!

You might want to check out my new Custom kwaiken flippers, they are available with Wharncliffe or Spearpoint blade options. Classy yet tactical.

Wharn. I understand I shouldn't leave a firearm locked in my car for extended periods of time but my commute is an hour or more and runs through several bad areas. I just feel naked without it under the circumstances.

Totally get this, I'd be in the same boat if I had to commute to work. My company has a "zero tollerance" rule when it comes to "weapons". Thankfully my office is in my home, so they can screw themselves;).

Question:

What is the corporate policy with regard to mace and knives?

If I was caught in a corporate office with mace or a knife (that looked like a weapon) I'd be fired on the spot. If your company has a similar policy you'd be better off just packing heat if going unarmed is an unacceptable choice...if mace will get you fired as quick a gun..? Sounds like your in a good position so loosing that job over a weapon would be a serious kick to the junk.

Back to your original question...I'd recommend a Spyderco Yojimbo. It is designed as a self defense tool, but it kind of looks like an overbuilt box cutter. At least that's how I would describe it if I was questioned about carrying it in a corporate setting. It's not excessively long, but long enough I suppose. There is something that looks a bit intimidating about it, but it kind of looks utilitarian as well...

Personally, when I have to travel to a office (which is infrequent) I limit my carry to a slip joint. Risk vs reward I guess.

Yojimbo blade.

I agree with everyone else here, and I especially wouldn't leave a firearm locked up in your car all day, even in a good neighborhood.

I don't understand the reasoning regarding not keeping a firearm properly secured ( and out of sight) in a vehicle . This is very common practice . I'm not suggesting a gun for OP .
