A Final Thank You All GAW/Winners Announced in post 131

Not an entry.

I'm very saddened to hear this news Bob. A lot of strength to you and your family. I hope you'll get the time to still make a lot of happy memories with your family and friends.

Bob, We haven't had much discussion together however, from what I have had and what I've seen you are quite a great friend. I feel like I know you yet we've never met. To me that's the beauty of this porch. I know you are well loved! I applaud you in choosing quality time with family, the best treasure of all! You've been in my thoughts and prayers.

Enjoy friends, family, love, and laughter, and ... Big Biscuits topped with whatever you love!

Hey Bob, I am in for sure, If I win we will have a lot of fun(your knife and I). It would be a great honor.

This is a great community, one in which a story about a stranger can bring a tear to your eye. I think you are a big part of the reason this community is so amazing.

Not an entry. I am literally choked up from all the well wishes I have read. I could read them all because i didn't want to break down at work. Bob, we have never met but I can tell you are a cherished member of the community. I have had many close friends and family members battle with cancer. One of my friends mother in-law is in her 24th month of her "less than 6 months left to live". I pray you can be this kind of statistic. The ones that beat the odds. FWIW it has spread everywhere on her, but you wouldn't know it if you met her. May the lord bless you and keep you and make his face to shine upon you and give you peace.

Not an entry, Bob, since I already won a GAW you had back when this fight started. I still carry that chestnut jigged bone CV Sodbuster Jr every day, and I still use it to remind me to pray daily for you (and for many other folks I know who've been dealt a hand that looks pretty rotten from my perspective). In fact, here's a pic I took today of that Sodbuster Jr while vacationing on Lake Huron in Michigan's U.P.

Bob, you and I have talked briefly about Stuart Scott from ESPN and his famous speech about how beating cancer isn't a matter of WHETHER you live or die, but it's a matter of HOW you live. From that perspective, you're a BIG winner, and as I've said in the past, a huge inspiration to me in how you've faced the situation. Your courage, determination, kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity have been (and I think will always be) a instructive example to me of how to face adversity with dignity and grace.

I'll continue praying for a miracle, but also offering prayers of thanksgiving for the strength and character you've exhibited!

(And I keep meaning to ask you, but have forgotten until now: what does Red Sox Nation think of Porcello? As a Detroit Tigers fan, I was sorry to see him leave the Tigers.)

Thoughts and prayers from my family go out to you and your loved ones.Keep fighting the good fight and God bless. Please not an entry.

I only have 67 posts here, so not an entry (the Laguiole looks pretty sweet...), but here's hoping one of those miracles that happen from time to time comes your way.

Not an entry. As someone who has lost a grandfather to inoperable cancer in the brain, I somewhat understand what your family must be going through. You have made a very tough, but a very brave and selfless decision. I wish you the best.

Bob, I don't know what to say other than my thoughts and prayers for you and your family. I'm sure your decision was extremely difficult but I'm also sure you made the right decision for you and your family. I'm in and would be honored if I should receive one of your GAW's.. God bless Bob.

Bob,

Smoke and prayers for you. Keep fighting and keep a positive attitude if possible. You just never know what might happen.
I am in, I would be honored to enter your giveaway.
Thank you
Mark

Thank you, Neal

Not an entry but I wanted to give my prayers and good thoughts in this tough time. I cannot imagine going through this, but unfortunately know some that are going through it, and have gone through it. My heart breaks for your grandson.

At this time, take a gander to CBD oil. I've heard good things about it, told several in your shoes about it. Maybe it could help alleviate some issues right now.

I don't have the words, but I do have the prayers man.

Godspeed to you and your family Big may you and your family all stay strong in fighting the good fight and keeping the faith. Prayers to all.

Bob, I'm so sorry to learn that your treatments have not been more effective. I pray that you and your family will find peace, and will have meaningful time together.

You are an important part of the porch community, and I really enjoy your warmth, humor and generosity. I also appreciated the way you boldly modify knives to make them uniquely yours and uniquely serviceable. I hope you have many days ahead in which to enjoy family, friendships, and go after Stripers when the run comes.

I'm in. I'll pass you some of my good luck.
I entered your name in the prayer book at my church. St.Edwards is behind you now.

One thing I forgot to add in my original post...our Lord, whichever you chose to believe in, does in fact work miracles. We should never stop praying, no matter what you believe.
