I like to browse certain disreputable websites so I can see what there are clones of so I know what to be suspicious of on eBay and elsewhere. While I was doing my normal set of searches (spyderco, zero tolerance, titanium d2, titanium s35vn, bearing knife) I came across this and stopped dead in my tracks / mouse wheel scroll:

And now I see why there would be such outrage if CR made a flipper Sebenza. That thing is ugly as sin.

It's an interesting sight to see - a flipper Sebenza that isn't just a crap photoshop.
 
I'm amused that the cloners do a better job of listening to their customers than CRK.

Fun find, no doubt this will be a popular thread.

It's a curiosity more than anything else, I would say. It's no looker, and close inspection shows a few design changes they made:

-The blade iooks to be more narrow
-The stop spin has been omitted (internal stop pin?)
-No ceramic ball lock

I'm not even sure if this is a bad thing to be out there - certainly, there's no confusing this with a real CRK, and it's a good proof of concept that shows how ridiculously ugly a flipper 25 would be.
 
I wonder what would happen if someone pulled one of these out in front of Chris Reeve at a knife show.
 
While I do not appreciate or support knock off's/fakes/homages etc. I am intrigued by the idea of a CRK flipper even if it is blasphemy... ;):D
 
I had some counterfeits in hands, not that one. Some Shrigorovs and ZT. Of course not mine, someone who bought it and brought to some local meeting.

They're very, very good fit and finished, action smooth like Sebenza or better [I've had few CRK's in hands too], but they're counterfeits and nobody know isn't that S35VN/D2 some cheap Chinese steel from Sanrenmu or real S35VN/D2.

And that's just off the top of my head. Clones and counterfeits are a big issue on eBay, now more than ever. I'm sure people are being duped and won't find out they've been burned until they try to get warranty service...
 
This makes me a bit sick to my stomach. Just unbelievable to me that this can go on and there is not much CRK can do about it.
