It's obvious to me that without the stop pin, this manufacturer has created a perfectly intimidating hand-held blade. When the user flips the finger lever they create a freely spinning Blade O' Death! You have been warned!...;-)
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is available! Price is $250 ea (shipped within CONUS).

Fine I'll be the first to say it... I WANT ONE (a genuine one of course)
hahaha
Chris Reeve must have made it, it says "Made in Idaho" right on the side.......or the Chinese moved to Idaho?

The factory just changed it's name to "IDAH-O" so it's legit, right?
The thing is, there's zero culpability when it comes to trying to "go after" a company doing this over in China. The local government is the only ones who "enforce" patent disputes and they do so in cash so good luck.
Even filing a patent can be damaging (to the originator) because it basically lays out how you did what you did so it gives the competition a chance to start trying to improve/copy/go around/straight up rip off your design/idea.
I'm still not 100% completely sure the PM2 I have is in fact real because I got it off the exchange. I might never know. I won't be buying from third parties any more when it comes to certain models/companies because the counterfeits are getting so good that once a flaw is spotted, they change and adapt to make it harder to notice the difference.
While I do not appreciate or support knock off's/fakes/homages etc. I am intrigued by the idea of a CRK flipper even if it is blasphemy...![]()

That's some good points about second hand sales.
I keep all my receipts. Maybe including proof of purchase should become standard practice.
Also, hopefully this means I can get a better price for having all the original packaging.
You might be alone in that sentiment... I'm not usually one to get caught up in aesthetics, but that is one butt-ugly knife.
