A formal apology from Jared West of Mantis Knives

at this point, i'd rather carry a sharpened turd, than a mantis knife. Jared probably doesn't realize how much bad press m4 and ragingwolfe are giving his company.

it's too bad, cause the knives look cool. Not for me though.

Depends which model you were looking at. The MT-4hc has a 420 blade. The MT-4cm has a 154cm blade, that is the answer to your WTF. He isnt the only company to offer a model with different blade steels. If everyone was looking at the same source(the actual Mantis website) instead of going to cheap discount knives dot com run by the mall ninjas, perhaps there wouldnt be the disparity that is occurring.

His WTF was referring to using 420hc for the blade and 440c for the screws. Also the auction he was referring to was selling the 420 model with a picture that said 154cm.

He isnt the only company to offer a model with different blade steels.

A. Are you referring to any company in particular?

B. The "disparity" also comes from the fact that some Mantis owners don't actually believe that the BG-42 blades are what they're claimed to be, due to price and performance.
 
Does anyone really give a flying mother fuck anymore? Show your disapproval buy not buying their knives. I know that is such an original idea, so I will give you a while a digest that. This is really getting to the jr high school level and it is just stupid.

3G, My apologies then. I am really not trying to stir a fuss. I am not trying to muddy the waters here. Just playing devils advocate as I am a Mantis fan. I wont say anything about the BG-42 issue, as it is between DD and JW. Not my fight. I cant speak for any mistakes on the Mantis website, because it is not mine either. I did talk to JW today, and next time I speak to him, I will ask about the mistakes on the website. He can address them, as I wont speak for him. This thread went way too long, and I wouldnt have posted anymore, except I saw a friend of mine being shredded for standing up for Mantis knives.

No worries, man. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a misunderstanding as far as where the confusion started, and what it was over. There's nothing wrong with standing up for friends, but you've also been a lot more reasonable than Made4Blade, and you've actually posted in non-Mantis related threads.

Made4Blade's probably a really nice guy, but he doesn't seem to be doing Mantis much good at all by continuing to post on the subject. I don't think he's being "shredded" here just for sticking up for his favorite knife company. I think he's being shredded for only posting about Mantis, making excuse after excuse in doing so, trying to answer for Jared West, failing to make good on his "I'm outta here" statement, and for being a bit paranoid.

Anyway, you're certainly right about this thread being a little on the lengthy side.:D

Yes, some of us do ... care ... what gets posted here. You're kidding me, aren't you? We shouldn't discuss knives on Bladeforums because you're tired of reading this thread?

Don't talk down to us. I've probably been out of junior high school longer than you've been alive.
