Where are you at Brother, I am in Troy.
Knowing how some of you guys are, you would probably burn down my house if you knew where I lived, sorry but I don't trust you.
I know who I am, Jared knows who he is. Ragingwolf knows who I am.
Jared, by your statement I assume that all your knives are made in Taiwan. That was what I wanted to know, as I've seen them listed as Taiwan, China, and US made.
Troy's a beautiful piece of God's country, my friend. I've only been through there on my way into the Idaho panhandle but I was very impressed. Moved out here to Montana when I was 18 and never looked back. Lived all over - Butte, Anaconda, Glendive, Big Fork, Billings and several other . Currently in Helena the "Queen City" of Montana. LOL! (I know, I know) That moniker only implies that there must be a "King City" and, yea, there is - Butte!
Take care and no offense intended.
Best to you, friend.

What is Mr. West's eBay ID? I did a search on Mantis and found only a few odd knives for sale. Nothing that even hinted at the head of a company selling his particular brand.
uh huh and most of the rest of us know what you are and how much you know when it comes to the knife community and knives. You guys have demonstrated that in spades and it is not something to be admired. Montana is blessed with some of the greatest and nicest knife makers in the country. You don't have very far to go to get a little actual knowledge at all and you will really enjoy the journey, actually meeting people who will be a great influence on you on many levels.
Or you can continue to drink the Koolaide. The choice is yours alone.
Unbelievable. Knowing how you are, concerning Mantis knives... Sorry, but I don't trust you. Why should I?:yawn:
I personally don't care who you are & where you're from... No need to give up your personal info here. But, don't be accusing us or alleging that we would "probably" be getting ready to burn your house down if we knew where you lived. I don't think that any of us would do such a thing.
I personally don't care where you live. I don't believe you are Jared, but either way, I wouldn't care. As far as the quoted statement, chill the heck out. First and foremost, you don't "know" any of us other than ragingwolf66, so how could you "know how we are".
Some of us think you are a bit overzealous. Others think you are BSing them. That said, in the real world, nobody here is wringing their hands in anticipation of your location, so they can come after you with violence and intimidation. Noone who has responded negatively to you here gives a rat's behind who you are once they log out of BF.
Once I finish this post, I'll be sitting in my back yard with a Marlboro and my sharpening stones, not thinking about some dillweed on an internet forum. Where will you be?
His ebay store is called "the original chop shop".
Montana is in fact a great hub for makers. I have Spoken to Ed Caffrey, and Steven Kelley, as well as Mike Hangas of Ruana knives, and have also had some contact with Christine Simonich. I have a couple of local makers that are letting me into their shops so I can start my own designs. I have big hands an am working on a large Drop point Hunter design (Loveless inspired...of course.)

Unless someone is paying very close attention, and bothers to fact check before buying the knife, they may assume that the knife they are buying is American made. There are two mentions of California, and NO mentions of Taiwan. You can say that this is unintentional if you want, but saying "Designed in California" without the "and Made in Taiwan", and then shipping a knife without a country identifier is purposeful deception. This knife is Designed in California and has a UNCONDITIONAL lifetime warranty.
BS. I've owned this knife (the 154cm version), and know it was in production at least last year. This is a limited run 2008 model knife,
