So you gonna be the first in line to meet me at a show???

Didn't you say you were a cop? Why does some person you've never met, calling you a douchebag on an internet forum, get you riled up enough to challenge them to "meet you at a show"? Do you not have to deal with name calling on the job? I hope you don't respond in the real world like you do online.

What are you going to do ragingwolf, meet us all on the playground. I will bring Johnny and the teacher. We can meet next to the monkeybars and duke it out. If you think there was any honor in what has transpired with this whole spam thread, please point it out. You and Jared are friends, blah, blah, blah. You were part of a spam campaign by a man of low moral fortitude, congratulations. I will make sure to look for you at the blade shows. I will check the Mantis table, and their BG42, I mean VG10, I mean 420 stainless steel. What a joke:thumbdn:

rw66, you have some issues you need professional help with. And I'd be very careful about making veiled threats on the internet.

I agree with bdws...and I was in the military, by choice.

Ignore...the next best thing to Banned.

No, you misunderstand. Did you see where I said, I would gladly shake their hand? or the other example where I said I would buy them a cup of coffee. I dont get riled up. I was a Submarine sailor for 20 years, no room for instability... My point is I am glad there are so many different opinions in our community. It would be boring otherwise.

Again, SPXTrader, no threats from me at all. Congrats on bein in the military by choice. I was in from 1984-2004.

Jill, I would even consider sending you my Mantis You could start a pass around. You were respectful through this. August Mantis turns 2 years old. Jared helped me out when his company was only 2 or 3 months old.

Yes they were available at Knife Outlet well over a year ago, because I was reading in the what's new section there and noticed the model (law enforcement with the red dots and designs on the handle) and asked in general about it and was informed they are made in China. (I still don't know where they are made for sure) But, that is not what Mr. West says on his eBay store. He claims it's just out this year and nobody has them. (the people at knife outlet where even talking about the fit and finish so I know they had them)
Then I saw where Mr. West was talking about others brands on his eBay store and he really could take a lesson from Spyderco on that. Here is what Sal has to say:
This is a sensitive subject, so I would appreciate your patience and understanding.

The hostility that seems to appear on the forum makes it an uncomfortable place to be. This is opposite the intention.

Much of the hostility seems to be centered around the "round hole issue".

After listening to comments, discussion and much thought (which requires time because I'm sometimes slow), I have a request.

I am asking you to pull any tag lines or comments that could be perceived as hostile or antagonistic to other companies in the knife industry, while on our forums.

I realize that to many, it is an important issue, and I will admit to being sensitive myself, but a negative approach is not good for the industry or Spyderco in the industry.

Intelligent, civil communication is more valuable.

We have always tried to "leave shiny footprints" where ever we go. I personally have tried to avoid negative comments towards other companies. (No, I'm not perfect either :o ) I think it serves to keep thoughts about Spyderco and other companies more positive than negative.

If you would like to be closely associated with Spyderco, which we greatly appreciate, it would be our wish that you consider leaving shiny footprints rather than hostile feelings, where Spyderco is concerned.

thanx much for your cooperation and kind understanding.

sal

I found the store.
...if you're interested. I'm not.

Seems as though "the store" (linked above) is now only offering one knife model for sale. All the other listings are gone now. I wonder why that is.

Edit: Well, it appears the items are in the process of being re-entered right now. I now see four models currently available.

Yeah, strange, just 5 hours ago, there were 20 or 30 knives up for sale. I am sure it was just a coincidence.

I think many knife companies could take a lesson from Sal. I have been a user and collector of Spydercos for nearly 20 years.

dude, I'm sorry but it certainly did not come off like that.

one thing to keep in mind: some of us might not be cops or military, but we've got friends and family who are. Making threats, even ambiguous ones, would not be good. we have your name and where you live.

some of us even have friends, even uncles, in the fbi.

please don't misunderstand though, it's not a threat to you.

just a thought.

Brett

 Well for those that perceived threat, It wasnt intended at all. The negative emotion is so thick here right now, I can see how it was misread.

Douche bags...I havent spoken like that since the 3rd grade. Yes, I got the knife, I didnt go bragging about it. It was kind of back door that enderwiggin had to post the way he did. I posted about a knife company that helped a police department. I posted when my friend asked me to speak about his product. I didnt even consider the spam effect. and in all reality, there were only about 12 or 13 people that even posted. Probably because many are not members of forums. I happen to be a member of 8 or so. I have been involved with the knife community for many years.
No I really didnt consider the negative impact that this could have had. Just fyi, I have already been in contact with JW to provide some knives to a couple of the forums for pass around.
Going back to the douchebag thing. Did you really think that some one other than M4B or myself would have won? We were the only ones who truly spoke our opinion about Mantis knives and stuck around for the verbal stoning that ensued. So I got called a douche bag, and there were other names thrown around...So What. Honestly I dont believe any of you would speak that way to anyone in public. It is pretty ridiculous that so called adults would behave in such a manner. Douchebag Huh? are you even old enough to know what that really is???
I received a MT-4ti. I didnt ask for the most expensive knife in the line, and I would have done it even if a knife werent offered. As I said, I am friends with Jared, have been ever since he helped me out. I would go out of my way to help out a friend. I am sure that most of you would. Mantis just had the misfortune of becoming your punching bag. You talk that way about Strider, and Dark Ops, and some speak Ill of Cold Steel. I own, and have owned each of these brands (except Dark Ops.) Each has its own niche. I will gladly write a review of my new Mantis, if you want.
Something else. I served in the military for 20 years to protect democracy, and freedom, that you would have the right to call me the names that you did. So if I talk about a knife company that I like...So what. I did my time, did you??? But if name calling is what you want to do, continue, its your right. I plan on being at some of the shows in the next year or so. Look for the shaved headed guy with the goatee, standing 6'7" weighing 325 with a size 16 shoe. You cant miss me. Come say hi to me in person and see if you still want to sling shit in my eye. I will gladly shake your hand.
I wont be leaving this forum, because other than this speed bump and meeting some jerks, I still see it as one of the largest resources for a knife and gadget nut and scumbag like myself.

Have a great day...

Ed

Fixed that for ya Ed.

I see 4 models offered...2 "sog competition", 1 "kershaw competition" and 1 "benchmade bully". Funny, but the competition's names aren't capitalized anymore.
