Screwdrivers, and if you listen to M4B and rw, you can use them to pound into trees and stand on them. I hear they cure cancer too.

I can see how you two are freinds. No problem using someone else's dime to try to garner attention for a product. You are doing this on the backs or the people who care about this community to support this place and the owner. Integrity means a lot here and in the knife community. Yours and that of your friends is not even at the bottom of the chart.

What you did is not ethical or moral and if you think it is there are some problems to overcome. The first of which is a serious understanding of what is right and wrong.

Low life does have a tendency to stick together. Go back to peddaling to non-knife folks, that is your low end mall ninja market anyway. True knife nuts will remember Mantis you and m44 and your antics. Congratulations to all three of you. You've gotten a few more suckers and are now burying yourselves in the hole you dug. This has been quite amusing and will get more so.

Just so you fully understand Ed.

Now go and play with your new little boy toy ya got. Enjoy it and take pride in what you did and who you were taking advantage of to get it.

Ragingwolf, we're too old to fight. But can you not see how our perception of you is soured because you had to be bought to post about Mantis knives? You said you'd have done it anyway, but the only thing we have to see is that you waited a couple years until you got the incentive of a free knife to do it. If you have the integrity of which you speak, then put yourself in our shoes and see it from here. It's very hard for us to give you any kind of credibility.

That profile of yours said you worked as an Animal Control Officer. You should put that expertise to use and rein in that animal Jared before his sociopathic tendencies are used to further manipulate you into ruining your reputation irreversibly.
 
I just checked out his ebay store again, He has edited the (Kershaw Killer) (Sog Killer), and (CRKT Crusher) for less "industry offensive" descriptions.

My guess is that rw is probably a decent guy. I think the situation simply blew up and a schoolyard fight ensued, with myself included. We're not easily intimidated and are not happy to be treated like dupes. that's understandable.

regardless, mantis is ruined in my eyes and in the eyes of many. it's a shame.

Just a class act. An apology for how it worked out from one side of the same mouth congratulating the ninja militia on a successful operation. Think about choosing friends who don't drag you down.
 
Mantis could have postiioned itself as a source for fun knives with a wide variety of designs in decent materials.

CRKT did it. They even survived downgrading steels in some of their models. But their advertising has always been upfront and in detail.

Treating Bladeforums members as a bunch of suckers did not work. Mantis will never live this down. The shills can go away, or hang around. I think ragingwolf66 is the only one we'll continue to hear from.

If the others come back with the same tired spamming, we have procedures for dealing with spammers.
 
In time, if it is deserved. Right now there is no hall of foolishness so this is as good of a place as any for that to be seen.

Thanks, Brett, but I wasn't feeling real reasonable when this guy seemed to be threatening my friends.

The shame is that anti-social, narcissistic personalities like Jared West never think to try things the right way first. They automatically default to their scumbaggish and unethical ways first. Why? They are hardwired that way and do not have the ability to change themselves.

Ragingwolf, look over the whole of your experience with Jared. He played you from the beginning. He was not helping you or your department - everything he did was to set you up for his needs in the future. Everything he did was out of self-interest and nothing more. Look back over all your comms with him, and I'll bet everything he said and did was purely a sales-pitch, not real conversation. The sad thing is, he is so stereotypical of a conman that he isn't even original. It's all been played by every other malignant narcissist and sociopath before him through history.

He's just predictable. And that's boring.

Thats exactly what I would do. I joined knife forums to meet and communicate with like minded people. I made a huge mistake by Posting about what was a good deed In a what turned into a spam a thon. I am guilty as charged. I should have known better. I still like the Mantis product line, and still consider JW a friend. I made a mistake, and can admit it. I am sorry for offending so many in what was initially a short sight on my behalf.
Yes I will continue to post here. I am a Knife enthusiast. I EDC my Emerson CQC-7a, and Strider (BLG) SMF Tanto #075, as well as many Spydercos, Boker Plus (Chad Los Banos designs) a Miltner-Adams, and a few Customs(Dave Cole, David Farmer). I have way more knives than I will ever need, but will never have enough.
I have learned my Lesson about spamming, and you wont see me taking part in something that could even be perceived that way again.

I admire your loyalty to your friends. I think in this case that loyalty is misplaced, but I am glad you realized you were a dupe in this process. I know it hurts. I've been played by people I thought were friends too, in the past.

Like Brett said, you do seem like a decent guy. So, for me personally, as far as you are concerned, let's wipe the slate clean and start over from here.
