I bought one at blade and loved it. Got it out one day and noticed something wrong. Took my thumb and index finger and moved the blade back and fourth and the frame started to move apart and the pin holding the blade in started working out. WTF I sent it back and they replaced it but the new one does the same thing. Garbage. Really sucks because I like this knife alot.

If things are as you described, I suggest contacting AG directly or sending it back to his attention.

He's made it very clear on BF that he is interested in correcting any problem like this and is NOT happy until the customer is.

Edit: Nevermind, apparently he did.

I'm sure he can and will do something to help you out.

This IS the second knife, A.G. already replaced the first one!

Perhaps caine has a legit gripe, cut him some slack. It's not a personal attack against anyone here.

Sorry Phil, I should have guessed there was more to the story and kept my mouth shut when you just responded with the  .

In my defense, I was overwhelmed by a kneejerk reaction to someone calling AG's product garbage. :D

The thread title may very well be from the same knee jerk reaction caine had when two knives from A.G. had the same serious issue. The thread title certainly isn't helpful but accusations of abuse in this thread aren't either. Either way...there may be some ruffled feathers at this point but I doubt anyone isn't certain this will be resolved quickly. Mr. Russell's reputation is legendary.

Per A.G.'s wishes, he will have a full refund tomorrow.

I on the other hand am still curious if he batoned the second one, as it is clear to me that he did the first. A chewed up blade spine tells me something.......

I did not baton either one. Only thing I did with the 1st one was strike a ferro rod to see how the spine would spark. Only thing I cut with the first one was hair on my arm. Second one I opened up and move the blade from side to side with my thumb and index finger and it start coming apart.

Looks more like a hit against steel to me, but no matter Caine.
The fact that the only 2 defects of all the Cowboys & Ranchers A.G. has sold went to you, I personally find troubling.

But all this is irrelevant.
You are A.G.'s Customer.
A.G. guarantees your total satisfaction.

Based on your thread title & your tone with the Lady in Customer Service, we have failed to satisfy you.

A credit has been issued today for your purchase price at the Blade Show, as well as the $5.90 postage you paid to return the original knife to us. No need to return the 2nd knife.

My Dear Mr. Brownshoe,

I thought that the entire knife World knew that Mr. Gibbs joined us following the failure of Camillus. He and I have worked together for about five years now, I am amazed that you did not know this.

A. G. Russell

A fero rod tore up the blade spine on one of these?

I've tested fero rods with mine several times, and it's never even left a scratch?? (the spine is squared off and works great BTW)

I don't see how the customer has any more room for complaint at this point.
