A.G. treats his customers very well to be sure. Be sure to get on the mailing list for catalogs.

A.G. is a stand up guy. It's pretty rare for something like this to pop up, and when it does it's always handled with the utmost courtesy.

I've been looking at a few of his knives, and after reading this I will have to get one. Sounds like the customer service is top notch :)

This may (or not) solve the OP's problem; maybe what he really wants is a knife that works.

As for me, I'd still like to see a real review of this model.

I guess the question would be what kind of knife that he wants and for what use. I have never seen a knife simply fall apart for no reason. Something had to be done to these knives to cause them to fall apart. The best course of action is to refund his money and then he can buy a knife that will survive his use. This model is evidently not for him.

I'd still like to see a review of this knife -- it's one I've been considering buying.

Thanks.

I can give you a quick rundown of mine, I have the yellow delrin one.

Fit & finish are perfect, blade is razor sharp and centered, STRONG backspring, has some real walk-n-talk.

I had the thought that it would make a good woodsbumming folder, hence the fero rod testing, and it works great for that.

.... Oh you b****ds... Customer service is a huge selling point for me, off to google, maybe I'll have money for food next week.:D

Anything else aside, the lack of any photographic evidence to show an otherwise new from the box knife coming undone would give rise to serious doubt about your claim on my part caine.

My Dear Mr. Brownshoe,

I thought that the entire knife World knew that Mr. Gibbs joined us following the failure of Camillus. He and I have worked together for about five years now, I am amazed that you did not know this.

A. G. Russell

Don't lose any sleep over what he doesn't know, sir. There is plenty more where that came from, unfortunately.

brownshoe asked a question about a member that I didn't understand either. Now we both know.

All thumbs up for AGR knives and Customer Service!

Coop

I would still be interested in seeing a picture of the damaged knife (and the scuff marks on the spine?)

I was curious about that too brownshoe. The responses where a bit odd to your question when a simple yes or no would suffice. Guess I'm not part of the entire knife world since I don't know who works for a.g. russell, where he gets his hair cut, or what kind of toilet paper he uses.

I have an AG Russell Rancher I use as a steak knife when I go out to eat...I love it because I don't have to use my expensive folders and it doesn't "offend" anyone when I take it out and use it. Sharpens like a razor on the spyderco sharpmaker...So ok.. fit and finish are not custom knife standards but it is great at what it was designed to do. A.G. will hold to his guarantee even if you do have many underlying "issues" with his knives and he refunded your money. I have had more problems with other companies than anything I got from A.G Russell.
