A knife for a dressy/classy/family/ event UPDATE

Chris Reeve Mnandi. Lots of handle materials to choose from depending on how classy you want it. You can have either a stainless or stainless Damascus blade, and the clip is easily remove able if you don't carry that way and it doesn't leave a trace that it was ever on the knife. It is very stout for how thin it is and the handle just melts into your palm.

It's the best dress edc that can also be a daily user that I've found so far.

Good luck in your search.

I have one of those little Buck 425 models. It's small, ultra lightweight, and gets the job done if necessary.

Thanks,
Mnandi is definitely on my radar, but it costs more than I am willing to spend on a knife to fill this purpose.

A personal favourite when it comes to dressy knives;

Spyderco Des Horn

Lightweight and classy looking. Cuts well too!

Yep, grab a sexy Case, Queen, GEC, Northwoods, or similar and rock that as knife #1, and then something slim, interesting, and modern as your other knife.

The Swayback Case I have is so nice I leave it in the box, and I'm someone who strives to find an excuse to carry every knife that blows me away.

That Case is a 6318, next to an Endura.

Ordered my first GEC Northfield Yankee Jack in Cocobolo!
.............waiting patiently...............

Good choice, almost any traditional from case or better yet GEC would work. I also like the SAK Alox bantam. Super thin, 2 blades, one large and a bottle opener. I use it when I suspect there will be bottled beer.

I threw a gentleman's lockback into the gaw section since we are near the holidays. Good luck to all!

For me it is my Keith Coleman Custom knife. A William Henry or a custom slipjoint all work well as a nice dress up knife.

A SAK Cadet is what I carry for formal dress but I normally have a US production Kershaw Zing in my slacks pretty much daily. Not a fancy looking knife until you open the blade.

Since we're on the subject of SAK style knives, maybe a Boker Plus Tech Tool in carbon fiber? I'm very fond of mine in G10, and the carbon fiber would undoubtedly dress it up a bit.

Also since the OP whipped out the Omega, maybe the Mnandi, or a custom slippie is the way to go!

DocT, Oeser, take your pick! I'm really fond of the Mnandi and might go for it.

My wife has been nuts about my knife buying lately but she's about as non-sensical about it as I think we all are sometimes. Lol. This latest round she offered to buy me a Hizen with the crazy steel as I call it. Just to shut me up about it. I told her I'm not sure if I would carry a knife that size around though and said I would definitely carry a Mnandi and she seemed against the idea even though it was much cheaper on the basis that I sold the small and large 21 that I picked up last year. I'm starting to get worried as she is now remember the knife brands that I mention, maybe I need to pipe down about all the knife business! :p

PS this is my go to the office knife. I don't know if a Mnandi would kick this knife out of my pocket though, I absolutely love it.

Lots of beautiful knives here. I love the William Henrys myself. My favorite though is probably the cheapest too. A Bantam Alox Swiss Army. Very very slim and light and kind of "fancy" looking even though its cheap. It also has a bottle opener, which can be important at social gatherings :D

Which model Case is this one. I,m looking for a single blade traditional wharnie with lil success.

That one is a case Carhartt mini trapper in jigged delrin. I like this pattern so much I bought it twice! I lost the first after a couple of months. I paid full price. Realized I couldn't deal with not having one. And found a place blowing them out for half price. I will pm you the link if you can accept Pm's.

I also bought it's big brother the case Carhartt copper lock! Love em both!
