I am quite pleased with the acquisition of my first Case knife, especially as I noted, I love the beautiful wood handle.
And I also learned something new. Have not before heard of your "niche field of early/mid 19th century nautical art." Interesting.
I have done a little research on the antique river logs. On the knifeworks.com web site, there was a brief article re. this wood, and it referenced the "Joiner family." So I located some info on what the Joiner family does, and found this informative web site about their history and harvesting of antique river wood. Trust you'll enjoy looking at this, too.

BTW, am I correct that there is no dedicated BF area to Case knives? I still haven't seen one. I think they produce quality knives, and might be a BF area folk would enjoy using. And I have one other question. I'm starting to look for a display case for this knife, preferably made out of wood. Do you, or anyone, have any pointers where to go for this? Appreciate that.
