i caution everybody not to have any deals with CriTiCize (real name Jonathan Eger) on here. he stole $44 (not much but its the point) from me. we had a deal for 2 knives and i sent him a cashiers check. i have heard not one word from him despite numerous emails. for awhile i thought maybe something serious had come up..ie sickness, death in the family. well i guess not because he sure as hell was able to cash it, on may 2. he wanted a money order but it was easier for me with the check. the good thing about that check is i can get a copy of his signature and his bank account number which will be posted here as well. i am sure i can find some other forums with some unscrupulous people that would love to have the name, address and bank account of somebody.
 
Don't like to hear things like this. Please keep everyone informed.

he wanted a money order only. he has over 1000 posts and has been around for awhile so i wasnt too concerned
 
tonydahose. Next time if you come accross buyers, always insist on paypal no matter the reputation. Some of them are extremely decieving.

But a few friends of mine got scammed and they warned me to beware.

lotsa folks dont even have paypal, i dont have it and dont want it myself. if there are problems i dont know how well paypal stands behing ya.

If you use Paypal the best way to protect yourself is use it via a Credit Card.This way you can dispute a charge,if you get ripped off without relying on Paypal to back you up.
 
Curious, what date are you showing that the cashiers check was deposited ?




Just sent him a Private Message directing him to this thread.

Hopefully, he has the "Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages" box checked, which will automatically generate an e-mail.
 
You know I gotta stick up for Crit here. I know that a few of you spar with him in community but I have seen more than enough positive feedback with regards to him.

I am going to guess that this is a misunderstanding, a stolen check in the mail or something to that nature. If crit ( or myself ) for that matter was going to hose someone here it would be for a hell of a lot more than $44.

Tony I would also edit your post about finding unscrupulous people and his bank account etc...that could be seen as a threatening statement and would not bode well for you if this ever is investigated by postal inspectors.

I hope this works out..I am waiting for crits side of the story..

I have done one trade with him in the past, and had a great experience. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy to screw someone over. I hope he's okay, and I hope he posts here. Tony, I can feel your anger over this situation, but after one transaction with Criticize, I think he's a stand up member. I just hope he's okay, I really hope this isn't a start down the dark path for him either.
 
I traded with criticize (my first BF trade), he walked me through the process, gave me links to threads to read etc. I really found him to be a stand-up member. :eek:
I sure hope that nothing has happened to him and that he comes on and offers an explanation to resolve this issue.

It just seems that if someone were going to "crook out", it would be for much more $$$$$.

Since you have his address and name, maybe you should try to contact him by registered mail. (maybe his computer has issues and he doesn't even know that there is a problem). Also, try a Zaba search to see if you can get his phone # and attempt to contact him that way.
 
I do not propose this as an answer to why the knives have not arrived or the emails have not been answered, but people have been known to have life-threatening health issues (self or loved one) -- or even to die. Inconvenient all 'round.

I accept that the facts are that the check was cashed and the knives not sent. The rest seems to be speculation.
 
All we can be sure of so far is the check was cashed and the knives have not arrived. Saying they were not sent is more speculation.
 
I have to admit that in the old days I felt that Crit was a bit of an ass, but since he has returned my opinion of him has changed. I find it difficult to believe that he would something as stupid and dishonest as what has been suggested here.

What else have you done to contact Crit as a previous member stated?

The title should have been different as most of us, I said MOST of US standby a member who has been here awhile.

This is because he has been here in good standing ( alot of people are losing this) we give them a chance to speak if they can do so.

The title should have been "HAS ANYBODY DELT WITH CRIT" then explain your part.

Since two members here spoke up for him since I have delt with them. I shall standby their words and standby to see the results.

A member sent me a knife I got here and it took 13 weeks to get to me and he sent it the day he said he did by USPS.

ok. i was at the firehouse all day, no internet there. the check was cashed on may 2. i sent him many emails before that, and after. i just found out last week when the forums where down that he had cashed it. after the email where he gave his address i never heard one word. i speculated that some family of himself misfortune had happened but when you get the statement from the cashier that the check has been cashed, the old police officer in me just says you have been screwed. so lets say his computer went down, well then there is the library. unfortunately i printed out the email with the address. my aol only kept it for a week and deleted it. i know he is in PA, and if you look at his yahoo profile you can get an idea of what part. i looked it up and the only telephone prefix for that area is 717. i called the j. eger and the lady says wrong number. what else am i supposed to do. my only recourse is on here. i am pissed and my post shows it. as far as the title, i didnt say everybody on here is a crook. i said a thief among us. i have bought knives from 5 people on here now. this time i got hosed. simple as that
 
CriTiCize last posted something to these forums on April 22nd. I would suspect that he is either on traveling, or perhaps ill. It would be best to give this a couple of more weeks before hanging him in effigy. Also, if this is an international shipment, it is not unusual to have something in transit for 3-4 weeks.
