a thief among us

you guys are never going to believe this. i just got a priority box in the mail. in it were 2 knives from crit. i am in shock. actually i thought it was some other knives that i had just won on ebay. nope. these are the ones i bought back in april. i dont think i would have ever gotten them without everybodys help on here. post date may 30, priority USPS. anyways i always said i would post up if and when i received them, so here it it. while i wouldn't deal again with jon, he did deliver, finally. thanks again to all on the boards who helped me get them.

Great that he finally delivered.....

NOW its time to Ban his butt!!!!

I'd still like to hear if he has a possible explanation. It doesn't sound like there is any excuse for him not communicating well, but still.

I sent him "a message via email" (he doesn't have an actual e-mail addy listed in his profile) through BFC, early in this mess. . . .when he wasn't responding to tonydahose.

I just received an e-mail, half hour or so ago, from Crit. Without going into detail or post what I received. . . . .it started with. . . .

I sent this to hose ealier today

and further in the email it stated. . . . .

I'm not going to go into any real detail, but I'm having family problems.

There was some other jibberish, but I blew it off !

The info provided doesn't convence me that he was so tied up that it prevented him from communicating with tonydahose !

Your knives shipped out a couple days ago. After you left the messages on my aim (which you actually said to my girl, not me) she called me and asked if she could just ship you your knives. When I first emailed you telling you I wasn't dead or ripping you off I thought I'd be home the next day to ship them. I'm not going to go into any real detail, but I'm having family problems. I couldn't leave when I thought I originally would, and I'm probably going to end up staying up here (40ish minutes N, NW of Lewiston, Auburn area in Maine.. small little town if you're wondering) for a decent while longer... which is why the return address on the package will differ from mine. No one is at my address and there's no way I was going to have my girl give her address to someone that has been sending harrassing and threatening messages. I should have kept you up to date better and I sincerely apologize for that. Your knives should be there anytime now, hope you like em. I'll get the tracking number from her tonight and email it to you.

"Evidently, Cougar or someone walked him through the process of logging on. . . .cuz he was here: Last Activity: 05-20-2006 04:19 PM.

Me thinks Crit is full of ka-ka ! "

That was the last time I attemtped to log on until today. Hasn't worked until now.

If anyone has any serious questions, email them to me for a quicker response.

Sounds plausible to me, especially considering that his previous dealings have gone without any problems and the rather amount of money we're talking about here. Tony has received the knives in the meantime, so let's move on and let Crit off the hook this time.

Sorry to see this happen but glad to see Tony got his knives, and Crit came back, but based on the good trade that I had with Crit, I would also give him a chance.

Letting him off the hook is up to tonydahose and no one else.

On the other hand, others have the option of dealing with him in the future.

There was nothing so tragic in his life that a quick e-mail to the buyer wouldn't have fixed. Monetarily, $44 can be a shit load of money for some.

And boy, how convenient that Crit is now able to log on here. :jerkit:

Keep in mind. . . .when the initial transaction took place, when Crit cashed the check, when tony received the knife, and Crit logs onto BFC. :jerkit:

How does that song go, "Once bitten, twice shy."

I wouldn't deal with him ! ;)

What I meant was that $44 wouldn't be much of an incentive for someone who regularly completes deals involving higher sums (without any problem) to rip the other party off. It wouldn't make sense. Not that ripping people off makes sense anyway, but you get my meaning.

i got his email this morning. my response was "i got them yesterday and have no further need to have any contact with you."

his actions or lack there of speak volumes. i don't think any more has to be said on this subject. what's that old saying, let the buyer beware:rolleyes:

Although I didn't read the whole thread, it seems to me that he was sincere in having family problems - which sometimes, take many weeks to resolve.

The exact nature of those problems is his business.

If he has delivered, he deserves forgiveness, to me -- especially in view of the fact he's been around here a while.

Wait 'till you encounter family problems - you'll understand, then...

if you can spend the time to type your response you should spend some time and read the whole thing. family problems weren't mentioned until just now, around a month and a half later.

I knew that this would work itself out.

I know that it must have been very frustrating for you Tonydahose and I admit that the communication probably could have been handled better on Crit's part.

That said, at least Crit delivered and had the stones to come on and explain. I really hope that Crit's family is ok and that his problems resolve themselves quickly.

From my experience, Crit was, and is ok.
