Photos A Walk in Nature

Thanks everyone for the kind words !!!
They are very much appreciated

I have not been able to check in here much due to some unfortunate news that sort of came out of nowhere.
A week after my concussion my wife noticed a lump on her breast. Sadly it turned out to be cancer. There have been several diagnostic tests in the past few weeks and more to come.
Treatment will commence shortly ( chemo, some radiation and surgery)
Diana is one of the most positive and strong women on the planet and an inspiration for me in these difficult times.
In 26 years of marriage she has always being my rock. Now I need to be strong for her to be the support and rock she now needs me to be.
She tells me she is finding all of that in me and I pray I can continue to do so without faltering.
Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

I'd like to share here as well that if everything works out as we are planning Ray RayseM RayseM and I will do a 6 day Rideau boating adventure later this summer ( early Sep ). We should be able to cover most of it and hopefully share our photogenic trad knives here
Cheers :)

Be strong Dan, and have patience.
I have been hoping and praying for your wife’s complete cure and recovery since yesterday already, when I was worried enough about your absence to look up your last post and saw mention of tests being done.
As Ray said, you are an inspiration to a lot of us here. I’m sure you and your wife have it in you to pull though this in a way that continues to inspire us.

J Just Tom.

I fish a lot between mouth of monacacy and brunswick. Great smallmouth bass and catfishing
When I was a child and teenager I spent a ton of time canoeing and fishing that stretch of river, actually from Brunswick all the way down to Swain’s lock. My dad would take us on overnight canoe trips, and then when I got to be maybe 15 or so he would let me go just with a friend.

My wife and daughters never took much of an interest in the outdoors, so I put a lot of that on hold for many years. Since my youngest hit her late teens I have finally been able to get back into it.

J jackknife knows that part of the river very well also.

Thank you friends for the encouraging, heartfelt and kind words !!! I'll share them with Diana as well.

Spring can now be felt in the air around here and resuming some walking trough our familiar woods will certainly be therapeutic.
