Thanks Jack

, we are indeed looking forward to them. The weather had warmed up around here significantly for a few days and the "white stuff" is finally gone but then it rained for the past 3 days or so and now it looks like it's getting down to -11 C tonight with some white stuff forecasted for tomorrow

Gracias amigo
Thank you !
If everything works out, Ray and I will be spamming this thread in the fall with our photogenic knives navigating the Rideau
Gracias Gus, your kind words are appreciated

Thank you for the encouraging words my friend
Last week felt like it lasted forever to me. Waiting for test results which will determine treatment and outcomes sort of wore me down.
Yesterday we drove to Ottawa to meet with the oncologist who will direct the treatment. We had already met with 2 surgeons and gone for a biopsy, ultrasound, CT scans, bone scan, mammogram etc. There is and MRI pending and meeting with the radiologist as well next week.
The oncologist is a lovely and very caring person, gave us a lot of hope and will be aiming for a cure. That's why the treatment will take a long time, about 14 months total.
We felt relieved and with a sense of hope as we left the hospital.
I then drove Diana to a Best Buy store very close to the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Center and bought my hun a brand new Ipad. It will keep her company during those long chemo infusion sessions starting in less than 2 weeks.
In my pocket yesterday was my newly arrived Mount of Olive #77 Barlow which I had received just the day before after a long long wait ( Canada Customs decided it was just too special and kept it for a while ... it probably did not help that my father-in-law or post person misspelled "slipjoint" and put down "shipjoint" on the declaration lol )
I ordered this knife before we knew anything about what was about to be revealed to us and it came at the right time … the significance of the provenance of the scales of this knife was in a way comforting to me.
My last post "out in nature" on this thread was exactly 7 weeks ago today ... the day we noticed that something was not right and started this journey.
Pics from that day
I had picked my other #77 for that day as I felt quite excited to have been able to get in on the reserve for the Olive one
"Esperanza" in the background waking up from her winter slumber and so true to her name giving me "hope" that I'll navigate this one journey, supporting and encouraging Diana ... side by side with my beloved bride.
