Photos A Walk in Nature

Love this picture Dan, gotta ask, did the heron have any words of wisdom for you as you were on your journey last summer? 😄

Thanks again for the kind words folks. Once again I'll make sure to share them with Diana.
It was actually she who told me a couple days ago " Don't quit posting on the knife forum ... that's your support group in a way " :)

We are hoping to go for a little walk tomorrow. It's going to be cold ( -7 C ) but dry.
I'll bring my new 77 Mount of Olive to snap a pic or two.

In the meantime I'll recycle a couple from last summer to keep the dream alive for more adventures to come :)

Great pics Dan :)

🎼 Sailing, sailing, over the bounding main,
For many a stormy wind shall blow ere Dan comes home again.

No wisdom shared however I was met with a stern warning.
He said: " Dude, if are you going to snap a pic of my awesome self … better be darn sure you also include a traditional knife in it for the Porch"😄

CelloDan CelloDan , Just caught up on the last few pages, I hadn't realised the troubling times you and your family are going through. I wish you all the best and am sending positive thoughts for a full recovery. Take care but please don't stop posting here, your pics and stories are always a delight my friend. Oh and that olive #77 is a special knife😍
Beer scout and toenail clipper along for the ride on my favourite walk.

Thank you my friend !!! Your encouraging word are much appreciated !
Say Hi to Ellie from us in Canada :)

The mailman just brought me the lockage pass for the 2022 season. It covers unlimited lockage on the Rideau Canal ( 202 km waterway ) as well as the Trent Severn waterway, a much longer one that extend from Georgian Bay to the Saint Lawrence. I dream of one day exploring it as well :)

Thanks everyone for the kind words !!!
They are very much appreciated

I have not been able to check in here much due to some unfortunate news that sort of came out of nowhere.
A week after my concussion my wife noticed a lump on her breast. Sadly it turned out to be cancer. There have been several diagnostic tests in the past few weeks and more to come.
Treatment will commence shortly ( chemo, some radiation and surgery)
Diana is one of the most positive and strong women on the planet and an inspiration for me in these difficult times.
In 26 years of marriage she has always being my rock. Now I need to be strong for her to be the support and rock she now needs me to be.
She tells me she is finding all of that in me and I pray I can continue to do so without faltering.
Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

I'd like to share here as well that if everything works out as we are planning Ray RayseM RayseM and I will do a 6 day Rideau boating adventure later this summer ( early Sep ). We should be able to cover most of it and hopefully share our photogenic trad knives here
Cheers :)

I’m just now catching up on this thread. Dan, I’m so sorry to hear this news. There’s not much I can say that hasn’t been said already, but please know that I’ll be keeping you, Diana and your girls in my thoughts, and hoping for an easy and full recovery.

Just back from our first walk in several weeks :)

The "white stuff" is melting away ... cutting our walk short as it retreats :)

🐦"What that ? ... 🫒 ? "
( I am afraid the chickadees were not amused by my antics LOL 🤓 )

I sure do like that Olive wood you have there ... seems like the chickadees do too! Glad Spring's letting everyone get out a bit more.

Man I’m glad to see you posting these pictures again Dan. 😊👍
Absolutely incredible — thanks for sharing! Never thought I’d actually cross paths with a Chickadee Whisperer… :D
Oh Jim, Dan is more than a Chickadee Whisperer, he’s a regular Dr. Doolittle!
😄👍

Welcome :) I am glad you enjoyed the chickadee shots.
Most folks become Chickadee whisperers around here when they visit our local bird sanctuary.
Bribing them with seeds helps a lot ( and staying very still does too lol ) ☺️

Thank you so very much Barret !
I was encouraged reading your comments yesterday  !!!
Final series of tests and consultations are happening this week with the aim of starting chemo treatment next week.
Diana is a real fighter and a great inspiration and example to me and our girls.
Thanks again my friend !
