al-Zarqawi is DEAD

I saw photos on TV today showing his face, and I must admit that it looked about as intact as it could be.

He was supposedly in the basement area of the building when it was bombed. It's said that his ID was varified by his scars, fingerprints, and facial appearance.

The photos I saw were only of his head, but if the rest of the body (if he still had one after the bombing) is anything like the condition of his head, then his remains were left pretty well intact.

Anybody hear anything more about his remains condition?

I must admit that my wish would have been for him to have been caught by some frustrated Iraqi Shites, and then beheaded by them in front of a video camera (as the other poster said,......... "with a dull knife"). That would have been a more appropriate death for him, IMO, rather than the quick death he probably met.

In any case, I'll just have to settle being happy with him dying the way he did :)

We're all happy that the idiot is dead but you don't have to defile a religion in the process of expressing your glee.

When a religion expounds "Death to Infidels" it should be defiled on a regular basis..

The Wahhabe Islam sect has been killing both muslims and 'infidels' for many decades. They are not indicative of the Muslim faith any more than David Koresh represents Jesus.

Wahabism is only one type of extremism that pervades the Muslim world. Unfortunately even secular Muslims are taught to hate the West, Jews and Christians from a young age. Of course not all do, but since this idoctrination starts at a such a young age the majority never learn anything other then hate.

You can see one example here...fyi there are lots more. http://memritv.org/Transcript.asp?P1=924

Video is half the way down...

In the context of today's events, the much larger and more important picture is that we are slowly dismantling the centralized organization all over the world. Seventeen other sites were hit in Iraq at the same time. The arrests in Canada will lead to more around the world. Once you reduce the training, support and money, these guys become localized cells and are much easier to control. There will always be those willing to go to the extreme for their extreme views, aka Timothy Mcveigh. al-Zrqawi, he gets justice twice, once from the US military and next from his maker. Life is good

I'm not going to debate the social consequences of the last four decades of 'indoctrination' here.

The Quran is not a book of hate. In our lifetimes, we have seen Islam increasingly turned against the West. That is the current 'take' on it. That does not mean that the Islamic faith is dedicated to the murder or hatred of Christians, or has historically been so. There are persuasive passages in the Quran about getting along with one's neighbors, and not fighting unless attacked.

I'm married to a Christian. I understand modern Islam has taken a dark turn.

But I won't whole cloth condemn Islam, anymore than I would expect to be condemned by the Budhists, Hindus, or Christians.

I don't either. as I said...

Though there is a debate as to whether
The Quran is not a book of hate.
I've seen many passages that are quoted that I would consider very hatefull...

It's been going on a lot longer then that...

You could selectively quote the Bible, and make a case that God was a capricious murderer; so what?

I think the worst I ever heard was select passages from ancient Hebrew texts. Jew haters commonly quote selectively.

for those of you who want to see what a 500 lb. bomb looks like from the ground: more bad guys have a surprise going away present:

Linky

a bullet would be cheaper, but more risky. al-Jerkowi got two

i love it when the bad guys go boom!

(you can actually see the bomb for a fraction of a sec. - cool)

Now guys I was always taught to speak good of the dead, al-Zrqawi, being no exception.

He is DEAD, Good!

I have several close friends who embrace the Islamic faith. They are good, gentle and loving people. They are horrified by the extremists.

I have some Christian friends who scare me with their violence.

It is not the religion. I find it inappropriate to lump people together.and blame the majority for the acts of the minority.

Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice.

Ammunition is cheap.

Life is expensive.

As Bob D so eloquently said:

"And I hope that you die, and your death will come soon.
And I'll follow your casket on a pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered down to your death bed
And I'll stand over your grave, 'til I'm sure that you're dead!"

Good bye al-Zarqawi, now you know the TRUTH!

Thanks on the complements on the avatar. I thought it was pretty cool too the first time I say it and thought it matched my username.
I have only been listening on the news, but I guess they have quite a bit of remains. Enough to have people complain about it because showing the dead bodies of your enemies is against the Geneva Convention. But the Geneva Convention is only applicable to nations which these terrorists are not part of.

I don't trust Islam, I'm not going to rehash an old debate between my friend Munk and myslef. Those weren't the extremeists in the streets after the cartoons came out. Demanding that democratic governments make it illegal to blaspheme their religion. Demanding. LOL. To hell with your demands. I want to start a website and t-shirt company with nothing but blasphemes against Islam. Muslims, develope a sense of freedom, and a sense of humor or eat a bug, the modern world has embraced free speach, and you don't have the right to demand limits on it.

Where not only talking about "acts" but also the views of people. Not everyone acts on their hate, or prejudice.

I have friends as well who are Muslim. And one of the nicest women I have ever dated was Muslim. However, there are large parts of the Muslim world, predominately in the Arab world, where hate is acceptable, and taught from an early age. The Egyptian woman I heard lecture the other day spent close to an hour talking about this. Sometimes it's religous, sometimes cultural, and of course sometimes there is no distinction. I have been in the kindergardens of Gaza, in the 1960's, and have seen it myself. I was around the same age as the students at the time and I was amazed. Espcecially since it was so different from the way I was being brought up. Unfortunately not much has changed in the 40 years since. And if you prefer to be blind to it thats up to you. Luckily there is the beggining of a movement, predominately here in the USA, of real moderate Muslims, who are starting to speak out. They are very brave people, and many are women. They constantly receive death threats and one even has a fatwa against her life.

Here is a quote from Nonie Darwish.

http://www.noniedarwish.com/articles.html
The out-of-control culture in the Middle East needs a wake up call and a dose of reality. I cannot defend the cruel teachings and hate speech in my culture of origin any more. No other Arab with any integrity should. There is no cause in the world that should justify this insanity. I lived it and know what will end it. What is needed immediately is a united world stand against the Arab’s stagnant and barbaric view of the world and of themselves. We should demand from our media to report the truth and not stand as an obstacle in facing and fighting danger. The world cannot stand by, confused and equivocal about 9/11 and Islamic terrorism any more.

It's interesting to me as an observer of people how someone's hatred for another cannot be satisfied even with their death.

I heard on the news this morning that ol al was still alive when the US forces got to him. He was layed out on a stretcher by Iraqi forces, saw the US closing in, rolled off and tried to crawl away, and expired.
While I don't take great joy in his death itself, I do find the end acceptable. We said, "We're going to get you." He grew bold and defiant, and ultimately he saw his reaper closing in wearing American fatigues.
Heaven with 70 virgins, Hell with tormenting devils, or a great black nothingness...he witnessed who got him with his very last draw of air.

I Bet realy he was drugged up for the pix & is now wired to the light system in some god forsaken hole to help him tell a few truths.

You say his dead publicaly to stop his networks doing security review & running for the hills.

Then you can clear up a few more.

Anyway Thats how Special force people Ive known would operate.

I haven't seen anyone expressing hatred. We won. We're happy. We mistrust the area's residnets. We mistrust a religion that refers to this guy as a martyr even after the life he's lived. But I don't hear hate. People celebrated Hitlers death too. This isn't new.
