This is a great thread. I think this knife is about 100 yrs old. I like the very wide blade and it snaps like a trap. It appears to have seen little, if any, use.

Here's a pair of NYK Peanuts. The Bone one Has the Hammer Brand etch, The Pearl one is a REVERSE Peanut and is etched "Little Gem" Both are 2 7/8" closed.

Mike, I want to thank you for starting this thread. In the course of the 3 weeks this has been up, I've seen many very nice jack knives. I learned that I already owned three knives that fit the definition and I was "inspired" to purchase a Case Texas Jack and was extraordinarily blessed to have won Vince's 7K give away and picked up a really nice little Craftsman "made in USA" peanut. It's been a good month for jacks in Athens, LA.
