Allan Blade

While I agree about Allan, I think certain people should stop calling Martyn things like..uh..asshat. He is one of the good guys.

though i dont think he's a bad guy really, he has made some serious mistakes in judgement imho, VERY serious imho.

i may be a "windowlicker" but he's a "wanker" lol.

someone over there needs to make another "deal" with Blade to raffle off one of their personal knives and Blade promise to make them another. Joe did OK while the owner of the knife got scammed.

I'm sorry but I don't really understand this sentence. Should I pay the money back to the original knife owner because Allan Blade didn't make him another one until now?
If you think I should do this. No problem at all for me, I'll do it as soon as I know where to send the money and how much I have to pay back. But does Allan Blade owe the customer or do I owe the customer?

When MartyBB told me there had a knife didn't meet the customer's requirement, they prefered don't send the knife back to Allan Blade and Allan Blade said he will make another one for the customer. Also they agreed the knife will be raffled at BB then the highest bidder will pay the money to me directly to pay part of debt. I say OK because I think Allan Blade had the knife and the money was from the maker.
I emailed MartyBB to say thanks a lot for his help. Emailed the highest bidder to say thanks for his bidding. Also donated via paypal to BB for the handling of the raffle. Have I done anything wrong?

English is not my language, any one please tell me what is it for this sentence?

Don't worry Joe, this is all on Allan. You did nothing wrong.

you sir are too darned nice, just illustrates why its such a shame that you got ripped off.

no joe you have done nothing wrong, and dont owe anyone anything either.

which is a whole lot more than i can say for allan blades.

I see the BB crowd are all cock-a-hoop that one of the promised knives arrived!!!! guess that makes it all right, right.
Phil

Joe, I did not mean to upset/confuse you as you have done nothing wrong. I simply highlight and pointed ot that Alan promised a replacement knife for the one raffled and did not keep HIS end of the deal. When Joe chen gives his word it's as good as gold. When Blade gives his word it's worthless!!!

As for Martyn, I do not think for one second that he is a bad guy!! To the contrary, I believe he is a good guy that now deserves to be the brunt of some serious ribbing from a true blue window licker!! Martyn shot himself in the foot after sticking his foot deeply into his mouth, he deserves the roast job. maybe he should invite Alan to move in with him......(insert smily faces here and one with a huge tongue sticking out)

Yeah, I see ONE knife arrived and they are ready to start ribbing us window lickers:rolleyes:

being an idiot at math; if one knife out of 15 arrives but arrives Months late, what percentage of performance is Alan Blade at on BB?

Must be waaaaay up there as some are ready to dance the Jig!!!:p :p

One knife is simply a way to perpetuate the scam. Alan needs to communicate directly with his victims on BB and explain to them how he came down with Malaria, HIV, Hepatitis C, and E-bola just as he was about to finish all 15 or so knives!!

He needs to advise them that now that he is recovered he plans to finish the knives as soon as he rebuilds his house and shop which burned down because of some very hot metal shavings which burned his hands and that will require an additional week or two delay while he undergoes 400 skin grafts!!! Of course he would like another 20 or so prepaid in full knife orders and promises to move the new paid in fools right to the top of the list:jerkit: :jerkit:

If the folks on BB actually think that is a big deal that Allan has supplied a couple of knives months after he should have, then Allan and BB are made for each other. At the rate he is going some of those he owes won't be seeing anything for about the same length of time that Joe has been waiting.

Joe should be the first erson looked after and then sargey for being good enough to donate his knife. Allan should get his head out of his butt and do the right thing.

Posted confirmation of one knife arrival and the world is good.

As Wolfie pointed out. . . .

1. 15+ knives were prepaid. . . . . .when ?
2. Blade continually strings them on. . . . .for how long. . . .prior to delivering this ONE knife ?

There are PLENTY of fine makers that can top The Thief. . . . .and the BS FACTOR would not be present !

Jerked off for what ? A $100 - $250 knife ?

I don't think that Martyn's statement that:

"We're a long way from seeing all the backorders filled, but it is something."

qualifies as all cock-a-hoop. Perhaps it's time to ratchet back the rhetoric. At this point I'm not sure that poking a sharp stick is going to help anyone. It appears that the BB forum is fully aware of AB's shortcomings and are trying to salvage what they can from the situation (i.e. getting knives into user's hands) without lending AB any further credibility.

I'm sure that pmel018 can address his statement about "cock-a-hoop," but I HIGHLY DOUBT that it was directed at Martyn's comments. In fact, I'm sure it wasn't.

Cock-a-hoop is commonly definded as. . . . .

Being in a state of boastful elation or exultation; being askew.

It might help if you go back and reread the thread on BB. Here's a hint: It's within the last six posts.

As far as "ratcheting back the rhetoric". . . . .thanks for stopping by to pour your oil.

So. one knife shows up and Wayne (The General) feels that is a good reason to try to rub our noses in it? Wayne, I never thought I would say this, but after reading that post I have have to say that I think you're a bit of a prat. When he delivers the last knife would have have been a better time to have shown your great joy in (in your own mind) Allan having proven us wrong. Then again, you might be dead of old age before that happens, so I guess you decided to take the shot while you could.

Poppy-cock!!!!:p :p

Martyn deserves this, you reap what you sow. He came here calling us redneck and window lickers because we called Blade the POS that he is, and he sure is a POS. Too bad for Martyn, boo hoo...

Now that Blade has a thousand bucks or so of their money, I TOLD YOU SO feels great to say and be absoloutely correct.

Gee one knife delivered (a small one to boot) does not even come close to qualify as anything more than Alan perpetuating his scam. When he delivers half and does so before 2010 then I will agree that he is in the right direction.

Until then, this redneck window licker is going to rub Martyn's face into this every chance I get, he deserves it!!!:D

Hi gigone
you are, of course , quite correct, the cock-ahoop comment was directed at those posts(#69 nd #70) and not Martyns more cautious statement.

Phil:

My apologies if I misinterpreted your comments.

Having re-read the BB postings I still think "cock-a-hoop" is an exageration of the comments over there. In the recent posts I read there I don't see anyone defending Alan. At worst they are using a little positive reinforcement in the hopes of encouraging him to deliver some knives.

I doubt that this will work because I think, as has repeatedly been stated on this forum, that AB's conduct really goes to character. He has taken money from people with false promises of delivery. Fundamentally dishonest. That doesn't change with a little bit of flattery or kind words.

But perhaps they'll get lucky. Still doesn't make AB someone I would order a knife from.

My point was that I believe the rosy glow is off AB over on the BB forum and they are pretty much all a bit chagrined at what has happened. One response is to "rub Martyn's face into this every chance I get, he deserves it!!!"

Good luck with that. I expect that will go a long way towards building a positive relationship with these guys most of whom sound like pretty decent types as are the great majority of the people on this forum.

Some aren't able to see the forest for the trees. :(

RUB YOUR NOSES IN IT?:(

Not for a second. You read into my post what you will. I was glad Allen had posted a knife and my further comment was an admittidly poorly worded nod to my friends HERE who I know are watching this thread. I did not intend any insult or similar. AS I EXPLAINED IN THAT THREAD. Martyn miss-read my comments also.

If I am a prat, its because I thought you guys could understand I DO have friends on Bladeforums and I was not having a "pop" as you guys might say.

I would openly have a go if I wanted to or was of a mind to.

Kinda funny that Martyn wasn't the only one that "misunderstood" the intentions of your comment. :D

Like I care what you think...;)

However, I am disapointed people I respect thought the worst of me.

Some of what Martyn has said (in general about Americans) over here has pissed me off. People here don't go over there to crap in their yard. But I think he's probably a decent person overall and probably regrets those statements now that the heat of argument has faded.

I believe a lot of people have misunderstood what the General was trying to say. I think he's a good guy. Sometimes it's easy to misinterpret what somebody says, it's happened to me enough.

As Gillean said, the bloom is off the rose at BB and we're all essentially on the same page as far as Allan Blade is concerned now. Let's celebrate what we have in common and be good neighbors. Hey, we all like a good knife, right?
