Because if he stopped protecting Blade he'd be admitting he was wrong from the start, something he has shown a great reluctance to do - here and on BB. He knows he (and others) were warned but he felt he was smarter and knew better. Now he's been proven wrong but obviously will continue to deny it to the bitter end.

I really don't think it has anything to do with protecting Allan Blade. What I think it is, is that Martyn wants BB to take the high road, and for it to be a well mannered forum. He doesn't want threads to degenerate into flame wars. If as a consequence of that, people like Allan Blade are protected from being called what they really are, then that is just the way it is going to have to be. Members of BB will not be allowed to act in what Martyn considers to be a petulant manner, even if there is good reason.

I also think that Martyn feels that if all the facts are provided, without any petulance, that people will be just as able to figure out what kind of a person Allan is.

As far as I am concerned there is nothing wrong with with things getting heated, but that is because I'm a redneck, not a blue blood.

Martyn had no problem at all responding in a "petulant" manner when the request was put to BB for input into a Spyderco "bushcraft" design. In fact, his response was downright insulting although Sal handled it as a true gentleman (as always).

Martyn's conduct here convinced me NOT to visit the BB forum. If he isn't a complete jerk, he certainly does a good impression.

If Martyn doesn't conduct himself in a manner that he demands of others then his whole stance on the Blade issue is a joke.
 
It is kinda funny how Martyn will behave on other forums in ways that he would never allow on his own.

nah i doubt he's getting any of the skim from alan blade. it would suprise me too.

i think martyn wanted to belive in the good of the common man and when ya think like that sometimes ya get shit on. if ya are looking for good in alan ya aint gonna find any.

i still cant belive after all the stuff that went on with blade they still prepaid, imho they have no reason to act mystified now,& i think they know they have been "had". just dont wanna look stupid in front of us windowlikkers.
 
Now that Alan has consumated his con does that mean that he never really paid Joe Chen back one cent from the sale of the knife that Alan promised a duplicate for but never delivered?

That's what we wanted to do here, raffle off a knife to help Joe out but he wanted Alan to be the one to pay him back.

Did that happen?

I don't recall seeing any indication either here or at BB that the kind person who gave up their knife to be raffled off ever got his replacement.
 
The one person that put up that knife is a member of BF. His user name is sargey. Maybe he will interject and let us know if he has heard anything from Allan, but as far as I know he has not received his replacement knife.

This post further shows how great this guy is with keeping track of his orders. He doesn't even KNOW who he owes WHAT.

I bet he DOES! Con artists usually keep immaculate records of whom they have ripped off and all the details. He just pretends he doesn't know. My Father always said it's just easier to always tell the truth because you never have to worry about keeping your lies straight.
